Mixed a shot of fresh-squeezed OJ with an Oscar Blues IPA, was delicious. Anybody else try anything similar before?

Umm, no. Not a fan of beer cocktails. Why mess with something good?

Probably for the same reason people have been trying to alter and improve things that were already good for the entirety of human existence. Curiosity and the desire to make something better.

No, but I'm intrigued. Sounds like a good way to get your head right after a long night.

I haven't, but I believe it's good. People are losing their minds over IPAs that taste like juice, so might as well make one at home with a shelfie. I'll have to give it a shot.

Camping with my buds back in the day we used to make Hefe-mosas. 1/2 Hefeweizen 1/2 orange juice. Perfect for those sunday morning camping hangovers. Nowadays all you need is pretty much an IPA or PALE ALE from New England and you don't need to put juice in it.

Anything to break the monotony of the endless parade of straight up IPAs is welcome. And don't forget the possibilities of candy, like with Skittlebrau and mentos-laden IPA cannons.

Don't believe I've ever mixed actual juice into my IPA, but just the other night my son was eating a mandarin orange and I tossed a slice (sans peel) into my SN "Tropical" IPA. It actually made it taste somewhat tropical and was an marked improvement.

A shot of grapefruit juice will liven up old or mediocre IPAs. I wouldn't personally add anything to a good IPA normally.

This is a thing in Germany. I haven't been there but one of my German friends said they mix beer and "soft drinks" all the time. I think he said his favorite drink was 1/2 Heffe and 1/2 lemonade. He also told me it was popular to mix beer with Sprite. Then there is adding the sweetened syrup to Heffes and Berliner Weiss beers.

The only beer I'm going to mix with orange juice is some malt liquor, Brass Monkey!

While not remotely close to an IPA, I do like Shiner Ruby Redbird. I'm gonna have to try some Texas red grapefruit juice in one of the IPAs I've got in the fridge.

I left a couple headies with my brother last time I visited. He texted me saying he didn't like it so he mixed it 50/50 with Sprite. I think this is ridiculous but he claims it was good. I'm surprised this is a thing, I'll have to tell him.

Seems like Ballast Point would be pretty enamored with your idea, as of late.

I had something from Pipeworks, that was mixed with mango puree I believe. Weird, but good. Cant remember the name at the moment.

I suggested this yesterday on the Mango Even Keel thread. It really isn't much different than buying any of these fruit beers. Obviously color and clarity would be affected, residual sweetness might be a tad higher due to unfermented sugars and ABV would decrease slightly, but if the right small amounts were added, it wouldn't be dramatically different than what you find from Corona/Ballast Point and the like. I wouldn't choose to do it, but whatever floats your boat.
