Early morning sitdown with a Bastard

I see no reason to start today too seriously, it is Saturday after all. Happy day, happpy football, and happy drinking,

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! I finally got my W-2 in the mail yesterday, so it looks like I will be rocking the turbotax this morning.

My go to winter gose as always. Flavors of juicy blood orange, tart lemon/lime fruitiness, and moderate salinity/spice/acidity on the finish; with light-moderate wheat/crackery malts. Balanced sweet/tart finish. Very crisp and drinkable. Not as acidic as their regular gose, but it is extremely refreshing because of it. Always love it.


My go-to fruit beer, I was super happy that this was put on the year round roster this year. Big juicy sweet/tart raspberries with moderate bready wheat/crackery malt balance; and some light-moderate herbal/spicy hop earthiness/bitterness. Balanced tart/bitter/lightly creamy wheat finish. Always amazing. This has always felt like a mini version of Blushing monk; it shares a lot of the same character minus the Belgian yeast qualities. Has just enough wheat to keep the body on point, without feeling syrupy or medicinal. It will be consumed in mass quantities just like last year.


Last months batch is still tasting insanely amazing, I still have a whole other 4 pack left. Bright and dank hop flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, and pine; with some light caramel/bready malt balance and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Aggressive pine/citrus rind bitter, dry, and sticky/resinous finish. Enjoying them while they are still really fresh is the best option.


This is really great stuff! Haven't had it for years, since my original review. Huge flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted oats, dark bread, nuttiness,brown sugar, and light smoke/charred malts; with some currant/raisin/licorice fruitiness and earthy herbal/spicy hop character. Moderate spicy hop and roast/char bitterness; with a nice creamy mouthfeel with balancing roast/hop stickiness. Very smooth for 10% with a pleasantly warming finish. Really delicious, great well rounded complexities for an imperial stout.

Second time I bought this beer. Uinta Winter Lager. This is n the style of Vienna lager and I have paired it this morning with southern fried chicken strips and herb roasted potatoes. Cheers!

The Vienna Lager has a characteristic light sweetness form the use of vienna malt that creates a semi dry finish in this style. It is just sweet enough to take all that pepper and salt , light enough to finish smooth, and breaddy enough to go with anything on the plate. Mangia ! T'ingrassa! That was my family toast!

 

Good Saturday morning, BAs! Was just overusing the latest (and not so latest) on the 5Beans thread, so figured it was a good time to slay my last 4Beans from the fridge. Still well before its best by date, it's tasting quite good this AM. Now I have to figure out which errands to tackle today.
