A real eye-opener, well balanced but slightly sweet - definitely a great beer!

Good morning BA, have a great day!

This is a damn good amber ale. Flavors of juicy grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, toffee, toasted biscuit, and light nutty malts and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Medium pine/grassy bitterness; with balanced hop stickiness and creaminess in the mouthfeel. Very drinkable and delicious! I threw a random single in my mix pack yesterday, and will definitely do so again.

Really nice brown ale as expected, haven’t had this one in a while. Flavors of chocolate, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, and light coffee; with some light-moderate herbal/spicy/citrusy hop flavors. Hint of dark fruit. Balanced herbal/spicy bitterness; with a nice creamy mouthfeel with a touch of hop/roast malt stickiness. Very drinkable. There are certainly other brown ales I would reach for first; but this one is really well done, and I would have it again.

This is such an awesome IPA. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, lime, melon, green pepper, citrus rind, and pine hops; with some light honey/bready malt balance and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness; with a nice dry and sticky/resinous finish with a touch of malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. I love this stuff, it really showcases a lot of nice characteristics of Equinox hops in the flavor profile along with the citrus/rind/piney notes of the other C hops that are there. I can only get this beer in the mix 12 pack right now(cleared out a singles shelf yesterday). I hope they start sending us 6 packs soon, or I am going to have to live with picking it off the singles selections. I love Equinox hops.

Wow, last year’s batch is tasting incredible as it always is. Huge flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, fudge, caramel, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted bready malt. Some herbal/spicy hop bitterness; with a balanced bittersweet roasted finish. Full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel; very smooth sipping for the ABV, with minimal warming. This stuff is absolutely amazing. I basically love the whole blackwater series the same amount according to my reviews(Choklat, Crème Brulee, Mokah, and Oranj); with honorable mention of the Jahva which may RIP. Warlock is delicious, but not quite the same tier of the others as far as stout's go; but i still love pumking a ton.

    Cheers!

Good morning BAs! It was a balmy 7 degrees F when I went to the Y earlier. It's up to around 10 now - time to turn the AC back on. Something light for breakfast today since I'll spend all day filling out forms and writing lesson plans:

Another brutally cold morning along the southern shore with below zero temperatures. This 02/11/2015 bottle is working it's magic on such a morning. I imagine this years batch will be bottled soon!

Being Martin Luther King Day, take a moment to reflect on the man and his legacy. As always, let's have a great week!
