Continuing in my attempt to go as long as possible this year while only buying beers I've already had in the past (with exceptions made for brewery visits, of course)...

I picked up a six-pack of Sam Adams Boston Lager last night, and am currently having one with lunch before I go to work (...it's okay, I'm not driving. And don't have to be in for over an hour. XD)

I think this may just be the freshest I've had this beer in bottled form (freshest overall was when I had it on tap at a Ruby Tuesday's back in December -- which actually was what led me to buy this six-pack. I'd liked Boston Lager when I'd had it before, but the glass of it I had that day was so much better than the near-its-best-by-date or even past-its-best-by-date bottles I'd had before.) Best-by is April 2016. While what's in this bottle is not quite as amazing as what was in that glass at Ruby Tuesday's, it's still noticeably better than the previous bottles I've had -- the malt flavors seem to have a bit more variety to them, and the hops are present as actual smells and flavors (a bit of the bitter-fruityish type and a bit of the Germanish-spicy type, shifting more toward the latter as I get near the end of the glass) rather than just a bit of bitterness on the end like the bottles I've had that were oldish but not quite past their best-by date yet.

In conclusion: not-so-fresh Boston Lager is still a decent beer but fresh Boston Lager is a very good beer, and if I ever find bottles any fresher than the ones I have now I will buy them right away. If I didn't have to go to work so soon I'd have a second bottle right now. XD

A fresh light coat of powder last night put me in the mood for my favorite beer this winter. I'm thinking we didn't get a second wave of this tasty dessert around here, or I somehow missed it. Either way, I'm going to enjoy this one and some slightly warmer weather today. Cheers to the hump!

Really solid beer, but at $15-17 a 6-pack, I wouldn't call it affordable.

Gahan Vic Park Pale Ale! This beer made me wish that more Atlantic Canada Breweries were brewing an APA. Delicious stuff...

Dragoon IPA now in cans! Tucson, AZ's finest brewery, IMO. West Coast IPA to a tee, with all the pungent hops I love -- Summit, Columbus, and Nugget, as well as some other friends. So, so good.

I popped the top on this one and had a mess on my hands...big gusher. :grimacing::rolling_eyes: Hailstorm (Chicagoland brewery) makes some pretty good beer so we shall see how this one goes as it's also first time having..

I am SOOO glad that you (or anyone) asked! I am rolling through Porters, Stouts & Winter Warmers over the next couple/few days in the hopes of insulating myself against the predicted dump of snow in my area on Friday into Saturday. Right now, it's Dark Horse 4 Elf, but I just took a delivery of CANs from Reipstine's Pub c/o a friend in Altoona!
