I loved the hell out of the 2014 Suicide Squeeze. I'm a sucker for hoppy session beers, and that was easily one of my favorites.

We're getting cans in WA this time? Sweet. Oregon got some in November, but we were only graced with random kegs.

True, but now they have Over Dub. How many session IPA's does a brewery need?

Well if Suicide Squeeze is indeed the 2014 recipe for 3-Way then it will no longer be a session and put the problem of too many sessions.

Fort George also has a new year-round session IPA called Big Guns. It's quite good, but I didn't enjoy it as much as Overdub (which is probably the beer I drank the most of last year).

So if Big Guns is the year-round session IPA, and Overdub is a seasonal session IPA option, then Suicide Squeeze could become a full-fledged IPA using the 2014 3-Way recipe.

    Which would not suck.

I got so excited reading this that I used my lunch break to drive to Belmont and get a 4-pack of Magnanimous and a 4-pack of Sticky. This is apparently how I adult.

This is accurate. New Suicide Squeeze is clocking in at 7.2% or 7.3%

Overdub is so much better than Big Guns, I can't understand why they won't make it a year round beer.

Hey, you're preaching to the choir on this one. I agree, one is more than enough.

Sounds like it's now been confirmed that the new SS will clock in around 7.2% or 7.3%, which is right where the 2014 three way was at, according to the data base. I would absolutely love it if the old three way was around on a full time basis.

I can't believe one brewery is hitting us with so much fantastic news. Damn I love Fort George!

I took Fort George for granted until 2014 3-Way came around.

Even though I didn't like 2015 3-Way as much as the 2014 version, Fort George won me over with Overdub, Fresh IPA (so damn good), Magnanimous, and Big Guns.

As much as I'm looking forward to all the stouts at their Festival of Dark Arts, I am hoping they have a couple tasty hoppy offerings to switch things up.

I loved Suicide Squeeze and I loved 2014 3-Way, but they aren't the same thing. Similar, but not the same. If they really are using the 2014 3-Way recipe I personally would rather them call it something other than Suicide Squeeze, because calling it Suicide Squeeze sets an expectation. Very minor quibble, sure, and it won't stop me from buying it, but it's an odd choice to re-use a name for a different recipe.

When does the 3-way normally get released?

It's variable, but it's been getting earlier every year. Per our POS system:

    2013 arrived on 7/3
    2014 arrived on 6/5
    2015 arrived on 5/19

Plus the experimental batches show up in the Fort George taproom even earlier.

Be where? If you mean Fort George it should be on tap by then. I go every April and I definitely remember the last two years it being on tap in the taproom. It may not be the final version but it'll be damn close.

Yeah, you'll likely be too early, sorry man. But if it's any consolation there is an absolute mountain of great beer here that doesn't travel anywhere. It'll be worth checking if Holy Mountain has anything bottled (and by all means grab a mini growler of whatever hoppy offerings they currently have) plus Reuben's is starting their canning operation too. I think you should find plenty to make you very happy. I hope so anyway!
