Grabbed a 12-pack in Charlottesville yesterday. I've had the Wicked Weed, Surly, NODA, and Sun King collabs so far, and am liking what I'm drinking. Great to see the variety of styles as well as get to try beers with influences of brewers I don't get to normally try within VA.

@smakawhat had some recently, but I think he's near DC, MD.

I found some a day ago and am digging into it tonight. Started with the NoDa collaboraiont hoppy lager (they call it a session IPL). Very enjoyable, nice hop punch with a decent malt backbone to support it. Better than a lot of session IPA hop waters out there, IMO.

Trying Sun King collaboration now, the Double Dank Cream Ale. Strange hybrid brew, but it works for me. Sweet opening balanced out nicely and quickly by fairly clean but leaning piney hops (I don't quite get the dank too much, but can see where they were going).

Both definitely seem a bit outside DB's comfort zone, and I think that was the point. Congrats to them and their collaborators (so far, so good, at least).

And an only tangentially related latest blog post (as of this BA post, it's actually their Nov 10 post, so they aren't super active bloggers, apparently) about SN Beer Camp:

I have had 4 of the 5 collaborations and I was very impressed.

I am really looking forward to the SN Beer Camp collaboration!

I stopped in TW McLean on Monday this week, but they were out.

So I continued onto the TW Chantilly on the way to Ocelot Brewery. They had it at TW Chantilly for $16.99 and I picked up a pack. Very decent price for six different beers, five of which are collaborations (the sixth is DB Vienna Lager). So one gets two of each beer in the adventure pack.

Already been going through it for awhile now and posting/reviewing stuff... some great beer in there, wishing I almost bought a second case when I had the chance...

I also paid 16.99 last night. And it's a great price since three of the beers are 8%+ I wish more of these types of boxes existed. It would be an easy way for me to cut back on my beer spending :/

I picked one up recently and am looking to try it when I can.

Oh and Vienna Lager is very good for it's style, I don't get the hate on it. Probably because it isn't a crazy style people aren't excited to have it.

Yes that is one great beer!

I have had it on tap in numerous places in Northern Virginia as well as the DB Outpost in Lexington, it is AWESOME!

Strangely, my 12 pack had 4 Double Pacific bottles and no NODA bottles. Not sure that's a big deal since I live in Charlotte and can presumably try the NODA on-site. Disappointing nonetheless.

Wow, that is weird! But the 12 pack is so good (great value imho), that you may want to think about getting another one. And if you do, open it up before purchasing to make sure all 6 different beers are in the pack.

Risen, the Surly collab (double brown ale with coffee and on oak) was absolutely delicious! Would love for that to be available in 4 or 6 packs.

Got my 12 pack to keep me company for the snow storm. Have tried all styles and the styles. Although I bought the pack for the stout specifically, I was pleasantly surprised by the Thunder Road Brewing Company: Double Pacific Ale (8.4% ABV; 50 IBU) Very nice addition!

I started thinking this one was decent, and ended up really enjoying it in the end. I haven't had the stout yet, but I think this may be my favorite.

It could be here in MD, but I haven't been out to check. Snow for days!
