HaHa! Sorry man. I actually like the fact that it doesn't have coffee present. I had it during KBS week in '14. I was a big fan of the vanilla/bourbon I was picking up, and hope to one day have the chance to sample it along side CBS. That way I can do a true side by side comparison. I had CBS at last years KBS week in '15 so my tastings of each were a year apart. My opinion only, but Panther Cub left a better impression on me than CBS did. Not to say I wouldn't welcome the chance to have some more CBS!

BTW, give me the Tig's any day....even more so with the signing of Upton....a little more than 10 weeks until opening day!! Cheers!

Can anyone that went last year give me an example of how bottle sales worked for the first and second days? I'll be making a trip up to Founders from Chicago specifically for this event on Wednesday and staying till Thursday. Also going to hit up Odd Side before I go home.

There wasn't a bottle release on the first and second day..
On the third day it was kbs.. I got there a out half hour early and was about 12th in line outside the merch store entrance.. then 11 am hit and peeps were let In and immediate sales took place. By 1130 it was gone.. I then headed to the bar with my kbs and sat there enjoying a 2015kbs/2014kbs and a cbs.. and I was happy

Hoping it will be different this year. Either way it will be a nice trip

Exactly this. Only the day I went it was back years of FIS and Backwoods, which lasted longer than 30 minutes..... I think everyone was hoping for cellared Backstage whales, but they never appeared. Pours of CBS were the consolation prize.

Dig up the thread from last year; it has all of the exact details.

They sent a Keg of "BA Curmudgeon" to a Barrel event at Jungle Jim's in Cincinnati. Unless they're two different beers...there's hope?

Another thing that won't happen - this needs to be made in larger quantities and released in 4-packs.

Depends on what's for sale the day you go. I went on Friday last year and they had '13/'14 Backwoods Bastard, which I think lasted well into the afternoon. Folks were still grabbing 4-packs when I left around 2:30pm.

I think that Better Half uses the bourbon maple syrup barrels, as opposed to regular bourbon barrels.

Gotcha. Was able to try Better Half and it was way past it's prime. Curmudgeon aged 2 years is my favorite Founders beer. Maybe with this new expansion with the barrel/production room I'll have this beer in my hands 3-4 years from now

According to Founders, they'll be releasing 2014/2015 KBS, multiple years of Backwoods Bastard, and multiple years of Imperial Stout. They've also posted they'll be dropping hints/breadcrumbs in the days leading up to the event.

I HIGHLY doubt Founders will be bottling anything like Better Half, CBS, Panther Cub, etc... I wouldn't be surprised, however, to see some really kickass stuff on tap.

Barring me getting a call back to work next week, I'm planning on showing up every day when they open. I love having CBS/KBS available on draft at the same time, as a 50/50 CBS/KBS is one of my favorite beers of all time. Did this at Black Party, got some goofy looks, but enjoyed the heck out of it.

Not every dark beer has to be +10% with the mouthfeel of motor oil to be great.

True, I enjoy Breakfast stout and Breckenridge Vanilla Porter (which is essentially chocolate milk)

Ya...not that I have any inside information. I can say with 99.9% certainty there will be no bottle releases of anything they haven't previously released. Also...with 99% certainty, the only bottle releases will be with regular items and not any vintage back stage releases. Maybe Project Pam or Blushing Monk, but nothing of any value you can't get at any slow moving party store.

As for on tap...all bets are off.

Their facebook event posting for the cellar raid has all of the information that I posted. The event listing on facebook can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/923305347750729/

    Hopefully this helps a little.

Edit: The link will give you an idea of what will be available in bottles. It will not, however (as of me typing this), give you any ideas as to which beers will NOT be available. I'd also ignore many of the fanboy posts such as "Bottles of CBS!? What!?"... If Founders makes a post to the event page, that's what I'd be going with.
