I may be crazy ... but I actually think Rusty Nail batch 1 was small enough that it never really got broad local attention beyond the beer geeks. There's definitely no national hype. Look at the listing on BA - 35 hads, 3 reviews? I'm comparing that to a beer someone just sent me - Angry Chair German Chocolate Cupcake Stout. Angry who? But it has 91 hads and 15 reviews.

Couple that with the fact that it's gonna be a first time larger scale release, it's not a riff off of a known beer, and the name doesn't say what adjuncts are in it - e.g. Coffee Cinnamon B-Bomb, Coffee KDS - and I suspect the release won't be *that* intense. Hopefully there's at least 1,000 bottles, limit of 3 or 4, brewery only. Perhaps I'm naive.

Good points Ryan. I'm gonna go get a coffee and stare out into the rain now to help quell my paranoia.

I've never been shut out of a Fremont release, so the thought of that maybe happening one day makes me sad.

    Thanks, Amazon.

I too think the silent releases are the best approach, though they really only benefit those who live nearby or are able to hit the brewery at 11am on a Thursday. I would anticipate this being like the Brew 1000 release. I'm now a 2 hour drive away, and would like a little notice on the release date/time, but that's just me and my non-Seattle self.

Now that May is coming to an end, is it still too early to declare (or at least hint at) a bottle release date, on this site, of Rusty Nail, @Texwild ? It's great that some kegs have made it out early, giving people a chance to try it at special events, but the full release has been a long time in coming. Is that wait almost over?
