They deserve some love and praise with their own thread for releases and news. Henry Nguyen and crew are making good beers down in the South Bay.

Wonder if this will be the release that puts them on the map. Hearing great things about these beers

Love Monkish! I wish they would bring back Spiritus! Semme Della Vita is one of my favorites.

I'll join in. Been very impressed with everything I've had from them. It's rare to find a brewery making Belgians beers in the US that can compete actual Belgian beer.

Reading "The Hermosillo" and not "Highland Park Brewing" or "HPB" triggers my OCD and makes me twitch.

And why does this "SoCal beer shirt" have Russian River and libertine on it? Why the hell would you rep libertine in the first place!?

Is there anything printed on the back of the shirt? They forgot Beachwood&The Bruery&Modern Times&Bottle Logic&Alesmith.... etc.

Dude, Libertine kicks ass! They're sours are excellent ... ranking the Central Coast breweries, I'd put Libertine right behind Barrelworks / Firestone ... and then everyone else follows. (just my opinion )

It was the brewery that introduced me to local craft beer.
My son and Henry's son played on the same AYSO team and one day he came to a game. He had a Monkish sweatshirt on and I asked him about it. He said that it was "his brewery". My mind was blown and my wife and I and some friends went the next weekend. That was January 26, 2013. You could actually find a seat in the tasting room back then.
I hadn't been in a few months and I went this past Saturday and couldn't be happier with Henry and Adriana's success.
And that Never Ever Never was outstanding.

yeah it's pretty mindblowing where they are now. I remember walking in the day they opened. Their growth has been slow and steady, and their beers are fantastic

When they first started out, they were primarily doing renditions of traditional Belgian styles, but now that they're taking more of a new world approach (drier, fruit additions, etc), they're receiving more fame.

Dial in the basics, and then add adjuncts and/or toy with them. It may be the slower approach, but a lot of breweries could learn from them.

I also want to echo these good praises for monkish. I liked them before, but since their recent farmhouse releases of Haiku and Cart Fetish, they really got me hooked at wanting to try all their future saison/farmhouse stuff. Also stoked that my friend Jenn brews for them!
