Yes they have bottles to go, and also distribute throughout the state. If you drive up on Februry 6th they are releasing hazels nuts, colossal oversight, funk soul brother, and nihilist in bottles.

Odd Side Ales also just started filling crowlers as well, so if they don't have what you want in bottles to go, you have the option of a crowler as well. I'm guessing they won't fill crowlers of the specialty stuff (Hipster Brunch, Hazel's Nuts, Morningwood, etc...) but that still leaves plenty of great options.

Like @TheKlevin said, they're doing another release Feb. 6 (Per Odd Side: We'll have an exact amount a week before the release, but the projected is 800 cases of Colossal, 600 cases of Hazels, 200 cases of Nihilist and 75 cases of Funk Soul).

Definitely worth a road trip either way. They've usually got some great offerings on tap.

Talked to the Oddside rep/bartender on Friday who said that they would fill items like Hipster, Hazel's, etc but not all of the time. If they are running low they won't do crowlers of those & will have it noted on the board otherwise they are fair game.

Well that's pretty damn cool. I figured they'd be like every other Michigan Brewery and limit growlers/crowlers to the tier 1 / tier 2 stuff. Yet another awesome move by Odd Side Ales.

I'm going up there next week. Do they have tap list online?

Exactly! I told him about Perrin saying that they couldn't cooler no rules because 15% beer would eat the liner & he gave me a look like I was crazy. He said "we have no such concerns"

Wow, they are doing more Hazel's Nuts already? I had a hard time deciding which I liked better this last release, that or Hipster. Fingers crossed that some of the leftovers see distro to the east side of the state this time.

The last Hazels was a mini release. This one coming up is Hipster/BBAIMM sized so I hear.

There won't be any left over hazels, seriously. That beer is amazing, probably the best beer I've had from them. I did a side by side with cycle hazelnut and much preferred the hazels.

Sadly he's right, no way 600 cases of Hazel's makes it out alive unless there's a 3 4 pk limit or something along those lines. If past releases are any indication of what the Hazel's release will be like, OddSide will happily be selling it all themselves and skipping out on the distribution costs again.

Exactly. It worked out well for them at the Hipster Brunch release. I enjoy the brewery releases from the standpoint that you get to spend a few hours talking beer with like minded individuals. Hopefully they've gotten some of the logistical kinks figured out for this one though so the line moves a little faster. And I'd like to see 'some' form of limits put on this (1 case per person would be ideal as that's what I'd like to buy :grinning:).

Yea, trust me, I know it's a shot in the dark. Just trying to make myself feel better by being optimistic:grinning:

I'll likely miss out and try to trade. No way will the wife sign off on a cross-state trip to Cellar Raid this weekend and then Oddside the following.

That cellar raid will be no consolation prize, going to be a TON of good stuff happening.

Not enough adjuncts, brah. We're looking for hazelnut-maple-blood orange-sumatran coffee-vanilla-mint oreo-bacon-pineapple-habenero-chocolate-watermelon russion imperial stouts, dude. What does colossal oversight have? Barley and hops? BORING.

Besides, what's the trade value of this colonel obituary brew you're talking about anyways? I'm not loading 27 cases of some little known brew in to my Kia if it can't be used to score uber whales on the trade market. Sheesh, you should know this.

I know this is a joke as you're from Michigan, not Chicago.
