there absolutely is not going to be a lawsuit, I already talked to Augie on the phone about it (he was preemptive and contacted me first). This is a one-off available in NJ only, and as he stated this was in the works for his local market for many months before the TTB label submission. Hope it goes well!

@augiecarton When can we expect to see this available at the brewery? Hopefully it goes as smooth as irregular coffee did. You and the crew there did a great job getting people in and out.

I don't know how cool it is - the Sixpoint reply pointed out the limited distribution for SS/CREAM. Maybe implying if it was to be distributed nationally there would have been an issue for them? Not that I would understand it - the WuTang song and the Peekskill beer name use predate both.

 

I hope we can find this at either brewery on tap and in cans!

As an attorney with some experience defending intellectual property claims, I can't tell you how much I appreciate hearing that two of my favorite breweries were cool enough to talk this through. These issues can get really ugly quickly. Kudos to both of you.

Really looking forward to trying both of these beers, if I am lucky enough to score the SS. Slight threadjack while I'm here, I finally was lucky enough to hit a store shortly after Regular Coffee hit the shelf. Great stuff. Love the playful idea, and it totally reminded me of the coffee at every bagel place in NJ. Be careful, they drink way easier than a 10+% beer should. I could have gone for 3 more. Getting excited for 5 Beans. Loved 3 and 4 Beans, and cardamom sounds like a perfect match for 4 Beans.

 

Haha. This needs to happen.

What's more fun than two breweries with mutual admiration teaming up to share their inspirations and blend their beers & ideas? Carton brewing teamed up with Barrier Brewing at Smuttlabs in NH to produce this hoppy imperial cream ale. The hops from Barrier's Money IPA are introduced to a big imperial cream ale from Carton. Come on over & let us know if you think the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

We'll also be pouring Carton Regular Coffee & 077XX.

 

If it's hitting bars I would say it's a safe bet this will be for sale tomorrow at the brewery.
