What beer are you drinking now? #1194

Starting each weekday this week with a different coffee beer (I'm lucky enough to have a large variety of them right now). Judging by appearances, this one is a latte, at least on top.

 

So we put an offer on our potential first home last night and waiting anxiously to hear back!

Good luck! Stressful time, but owning a home is WAY better than renting

 

Last night: head-to-head, all brewed in December, although my last King Julius I was holding on to was canned 12/3, about 2-3 weeks older than the other month-old DIPAs.

Winner: Maine Dinner (Malt: 2-Row, CaraPils, Caramel 40L, Dextrose Hops: Citra, Falconer’s Flight, Mosaic, Simcoe)
2nd: Toppling Goliath King Sue (Citra)
3rd: Tree House Julius (Citra+)

3 limited-release, excellent DIPAs. King Julius was a juicy hob bomb with a soft mouthfeel and perhaps due to age, a little flat; frankly, I preferred the carbonation and bitterness of King Sue, but it had a lingering aftertaste that when compared to the rich, dry sophisticated perfection of Dinner, made me yearn for another bottle (if not a case) of the latter to put up against PtE and Abner.

Good morning and happy humpday BA's! Getting the boy ready for school so up early after I shared a bottle with a friend after work and came home to have one with the wife and play our favorite drinking game in light of new X-Files episodes! We use to play all the time when we were first dating. Have the entire series and would watch together, whenever Scully says 'Mulder' I drink, when Mulder says 'Scully' she drinks... never have a seen any any show or instance in real life where two people say each other's names so much when they are talking to each other, Cheers everyone have a great one!

Good morning, all! I was browsing the thrift store shelves a couple of weeks ago and discovered this pink depression-glass goblet hidden among some junk on an end shelf. Less than a buck, and the perfect size for a wee dram before giving blood today. This Bent River Blueberry Stout is pretty tasty, if a bit on the thin side. The taste has some fruity notes, but the espresso bean character of this is unexpected and quite good. I'll be looking forward to finishing this later, right after they tell me not to drink alcohol for 12 hours. (I'll be done long before 12 hours is up anyway. )
