Well, seeing as he removed all negative comments from his instagram post I wouldn't put it past him to do the "pay to remove negative reviews" feature on Yelp. Remember, he has to look good so he can sell off to big beer in a year.

Are we taking bets on how long it takes for this to happen?

ABI already has Golden Road, so I don't think they'd have much interest. MillerCoors hasn't been buying nearly as many craft breweries and already has Saint Archer, so I'm not sure who he would be looking to sell to.

This is what I was thinking last night. If (still a big if, but there isn't even food here to keep the people traffic flowing) it starts to go under, I think he's more likely to sell off (or even as bad as a fire sale) to a brewery looking to expand versus one of the big companies.

Only a non-beer person would think that beer people would go to yelp to make their beer decisions. smdh

They have clearly paid for yelp reviews. Check out the link below. This particular yelper has nine other spam reviews and then a glowing 10th review of Iron Triangle. Also, if you read the 50+ Facebook reviews, they are all five stars for how cool the owner is and how much promise the place has, nothing to do with the beer or the experience.

    Iron Triangle came up in a conversation with a fella who works in the beer/brewery industry. Asked if I'd post their thoughts and experience from the grand opening so that they stay anonymous and not mess up their career;

    - There was a line out of the door when I arrived. A wide mixture of people in the line from old heads to barely of age kids. Probably threw out a lot of feelers to club promotions or something to lure so many folks who... clearly didn't look like your average brewery patron.

    - There was this big goomba wearing a tan suit, slicked back hair. He was smoking a cigarette carrying an empty plastic cup, and he was pretty trashed. He was talking to each person in line mentioning he is the owners friend, and "no matta what beer you pick tonight, you gonna get fucked up bro, you can't go wrong." Awesome first impression. I saw many people rolling their eyes at this clown once he moved on to the next victim in line.

    - You could buy tickets, which was designed to keep the beers flowing at the bar. The beers that were all poured in unbranded plastic cups. Seemed like no one gave a shit about planning for what their beer was going to be served in. The place was packed. They ultimately drew a young audience. They had a band playing for a bit, which was nice, then they had a DJ. Time will tell if these newbs were lured in on promotion and if they would even bother to come back, many of these kids looked trashed after a few beers.

    - The beers were pathetic. How is this place going to "Take Over LA Player" if their IPA sucks so bad. Astringent, no dry hopping/ no hop aroma, lots of mineral flavor, like they haven't even considered treating that industrial water. They had a nitro stout that was a drain poor. Must have been too nitrogenated, it was sour, and not in a fun sour stout way. The Red IPA was pathetic in the same way their main IPA is. The only thing that was half decent was their Dark Ale with Coffee added, which doesn't seem part of their core lineup. Whoops! But their bartenders were very friendly.

    - The main playa was walking around in a shiny tuxedo, kind of reminded me of Pitbul playing on Dick Clark's Rockin New Years Eve or something. He looked proud and full of yayo. All of the instagram hoopla made the place look gigantic, but in reality the place isn't that big at all. With them having their brewer for two months, I would have thought he had those beers dialed in, but I don't think the owner(s) would have any idea what a good beer is from a bad beer.

We met up with some friends at Art District Brewing, and it too was packed wall to wall, so I guess this is the new place to party on Saturday nights, I never would have figured that, as the area is sketchy even during day light.

Thank you for the review and confirming my thoughts.

Thank you for the review, two definitely seal it for me

At least Angel City has a good space that is pretty cool, and they make average beers. Sure they are nothing special, but at least they are drinkable.

And thank you to the anonymous industry person. I think this one seals the deal for me, and it was already pretty sealed. I am 100% confident that the line was from a promoter, and not people wanting to try the beer. Pretty bad when the concern is "it will fuck you up" instead of "it tastes good."

oh and curious, to the people that have been there, what is the pricing on tasters?

Pricing was around $2.5 per and they cut you some break if you get the paddle taster to something like $8 or so. About 4-4.5 ounce glass capacity.

The dude already has plans to try to open a distillery and break down a wall to put in a restaurant. Assumes that the cash is just going to be flying in now that they're finally open. I honestly don't know if he just doesn't realize how much of an uphill battle he has ahead of himself. As those buildings and projects potentially set for the area are a long ways away and they really don't look like they can stand on their own quality.

I mean, how long has Greenbar had to struggle with the distillery business model in a tough regulated city area? Ha ha. Best of luck in that field, I guess.

Angel City has Sam Adams money, a great location and a nice drinking area. This place doesn't have nearly enough room for anything but has a lot of pretty equipment.

I always take Greenbar products as gifts for Christmas presents for my family back in the midwest.

Plans are way too lofty. Do something very good first, then start talking about doing something else should be the plan.

I will say if his plan is to get promoters and go that route it is an interesting business plan. I doubt it will work in the long run if it is the plan, but for the first couple months he will probably make a ton of money. Will the brewery change names every few years like club's?

I believe it was locked but the reason behind its lock was still up for debate. Some thought IT's owner came here and complained to the mods, others perhaps due to language, and others due to how negative of a light was being shined down upon IT.

Either way, I wish it was still easier to find.
