I do believe you are wrong sir. I took a tour about 2 yrs ago with CCB head brewer Wayne Wambles. There were BA Huna barrels on a rack and Someone from our group asked about the origin of Huna and Wayne specifically said it was a completely different beer than MZ. MZ is not a base beer but a different recipe all together.

Unless someone that works at CCB corrects me I am going with what I heard with my own ears from the guy that created the beer.

I've been told the same thing from a very creditable source. Two different beers.

What sucks about that though is lack of wheels. That's why the nice wheeled rollers are much preferred especially in a big ass airport. Let me tell you trying to roll luggage plus carry a 50lb box in the Tampa airport last year was a fucking disaster.

There was an email discussion with Wayne posted to a homebrew forum a couple years ago where he confirms that Zhukov is the base for Hunahpu.

They're a little cheaper if you just buy the bag and use your own shipper, but yes they are expensive. We looked at it as an investment, and we've taken it on every domestic trip since. I would agree that that a luggage cart would be a better bet with multiple boxes.

    Still cheaper on Amazon.

Where? I'm not seeing it cheaper on there.

Or do you mean with shipping?

I meant to mention in my earlier post that you may need to call Uhaul now and order the wine shipper in to the closest store to your hotel. They don't always have them onsite. They also have a 6 bottle version as well as the 12. Cheers.

I swear I'm gonna pistol-whip the next person that posts non-Huna Day info in this thread! #shenanigans

And to keep my own post on point: lots of new beers added to the "Beers" list.

Interesting, That was in May of '13. I just went through my pictures from the tour on my phone. The stamp on the file says Feb '14. Maybe they changed it. I don't know. Both are still absofuckinglutly amazing beers so I am happy either way.

    Holy shit... $75 shipping?

Anyone know where to get the mini logo version of the Wine Check anywhere else?

I see the red one on Amazon, but really hate the huge logo.

It basically lets everyone that handles your bag know what's in it - plus it looks stupid.

I wish Smog City was bringing more than just one beer. They do some really good stuff!

Not sure where you live that it's $75 for shipping, but to ship where I'm at in NJ it's $23.75 for just the bag.

Zhukiv is absolutely, without a doubt, ask anyone and everyone employed at ccb, the base beer for huna.
