It has been... people already seek out IPAs when tropical hop profiles, so this is just giving the people what they want. For the record, there are some delicious fruited IPAs out there. When done correctly, it's amazing.

Commercially available wine coolers are made of cheap malt liquor and fruit "flavor".

I can't quite do the math on whether that strengthens or weakens your point though

Drinking a pineapple now....to me its better then regular....but not as good as the grapefruit.
the pineapple taste like str8 up pineapple juice at first....but it really just mellows the hops of regular sculpin a little. Pineapple tastes more like regular.
not a huge fan or regular and really like the grapefruit...so I would say the pineapple is like inbetween the two?
The more I drink it the more I agree with the other posts....this kinda brings out the tropical people are looking for without making it too much. Its actually pretty good!

It is pretty damn good. Love pineapple anyways so this just made Sculpin pretty awesome.

And if you have a Pineapple Sculpin, you're only a splash of coconut away from a Pina Colada Sculpin!

Has enough seen this of the Mango Even Keel beer?

I hope Kansas City, Missouri got some a little of both...

I could not find a bottle date on multiple bottles in multiple six packs (did they move the white Julian date code?) but I assume this is very fresh given it's just hitting stores here in SoCal.

I agree the hops are significantly less noticeable than regular Sculpin and the pineapple adds some mild sweetness. Unlike grapefruit, which to me tastes like loads of grapefruit, this tastes like a good IPA with some pineapple. I prefer the hop forward regular Sculpin to this but do like it better than grapefruit.

Christ there are some major tools in this thread. Wtf is wrong with a Pineapple IPA?? If Tree House came out with a Pineapple IPA the same people ripping BP would be the people standing in like for 6 hours to get the Tree House one. For fuck sake, all the good IPAs anymore seem to taste like fruit
juice. I just hate how people rip beers.

it's the fact the only new stuff bp is putting out is just x beer with y flavor. lazy imo but I'm sure they are selling like crazy.

I tried pineapple sculpin and it's way better than gf sculpin. mango even keel is my new goto session beer.

Bought a six pack of this last night and split it with friends. I love pineapple but was seriously let down by this beer. I'm not looking for a pineapple Steel Reserve or anything, but I could just faintly smell pineapple and couldn't taste it at all.

Bought this last night and first bottle was really sweet straight up pineapple juice. First impression was I like the grapefruit one quite a few clicks higher than this.

So one of you couldn't taste the pineapple at all and one thought there was too much pineapple. I'm pretty interested to try this.

Tried this tonight. Very little, if any, pineapple in this beer. Tastes like sculpin with very slight pineapple after taste and aroma.

I bought a six of Grapefruit Sculpin today, IMO it's a pretty good beer and I was looking for an IPA. $13.99, but the price has come down $3 too from where it used to be. Within reason I don't really shop price, I pay almost this much for some 4 pks can. I don't drink regular Sculpin and it's $13.99 too, but I don't like it at any price so it's irrelevant. They had Pineapple too, sounds interesting enough, but i didn't want to take a risk. I bought a Stone N by S, a whiskey aged IPA sounds good, years ago foothills did their IPA aged in Bourbon Barrels, on tap only, it's was pretty hot on the bourbon but I loved it.
