Founders is one of the best breweries that gets wide distro, Firestone Walker is another. Pipeworks and Grimm are smaller but both are killing it - every brew I've had from either of them has been fantastic. Singlecut and Tired hands are both very good as well. Tree House is tough to get but everything I've had was excellent. Being in Jersey I'm lucky to have some stellar breweries within driving distance. Magnify, Kane and Carton are all amazing and I feel lucky to be in this are with access to them plus close enough to NY to drive up for some that don't make it into Jersey. Cheers

Founders! And they just showed up here last fall. The Breakfast stout and Dirty Bastard are my faves.

Those are three great beers. Enjoy!
Thinking of recent introductions here, I've not had enough of general lineups to mention a brewery across the board but a couple of specific examples of "hyped" beers I've enjoyed are Alpine ( via GF) Nelson and Alesmith IPA. Although I don't know if the latter beer is necessarily hyped but it was good nonetheless.

I've never had a founders beer.

Founders hit CA a few months ago but doesn't seemed to have gained traction. The Wholefoods I typically shop at has has FBS, Backwoods, Porter, and Harvest on the shelf since November. When I lived in NY/MA FBS and Backwoods always disappeared pretty quickly. Reps need to start educating and handing out some samples of these delicious brews. I'd hate to see FIS not hit the shelves bc everything else is turding it up.

You should fix that, as their main line up is full of winners, and some of their best is available now! Not talking bombers, but the 12 oz, which one could make a killer mix a six from the singles, and clearly dated bottles will ensure a fresh sample.

Usually have several styles, formats, and years worth of Founders in the house at all times.

I'll trade you some Founder's for some Oregon exclusive beers

Side note: absolutely love Founder's. The Breakfast Stout was highly recommended by me everyone when I started drinking craft beer and was pursing coffee style beers (as an avid coffee lover). It met my expectations from the beginning. I have my first bottle since then (one year later) in my fridge now for this weekend. I tried the Imperial Stout this weekend and on my. That was delicious. I know it was going to be a good time from the moment I poured it. I finally tried Dirty Bastard and it was incredible. Founder's is magical.

Bell's is also magical. I don't know that I've had a bad Bell's beer. I have a bottle of exhibition stout in my fridge. I'm saving it for a special day. Their Java Stout was one of the first coffee stouts to blow me out of the water. I've had a barleywine/old ale style beer too, and just plain ol' great. I want to try more.

I'm also trying my fourth Tallgrass beer as I type. Every single one of them has been great.

I wonder if it just takes time to establish a new market. Ballast Point has just recently been available in MI, I have not heard much excitement locally.

I've got a cellar full of Founders! Avatar!

I've got a cellar full of Founders too! I'm from Michigan, twice a year I fly back and bring an empty suitcase.

So you're a Founders Curmudgeon huh?

Haha, I only have one, and it's being saved. That said, I could always get more.... There seems to be plenty on the shelves.

They came to CA and Backwoods Bastard has been a game changer. $17 for a 4 pack and it's almost as good as BCBBW. Hopefully it doesn't run out I'm stocking up. So nice to see BA beers in my neck of the woods that aren't in 750ml format that I can afford to drink on the reg.

I love Founders, but as a Grand Rapids native, I'm biased. Maybe this is old news, but my brother, a regular at their taproom, just told me Founders is expanding again. They bought a new site to do distribution, barrel age brewing and experimentals

We've gotten Founders here forever but I never really appreciated them until recently. I'm not a fan of their hoppy brews, but Imperial Stout, Breakfast Stout, KBS, Backwoods Bastard, Porter, Dirty Bastard, etc are all very tasty, accessible and affordable. There one offs are nice too. Big fan!

Can't say that I agree. I found it quite bland even for a session beer.

Best beer-related news that I've heard in some time. Founders is my favorite brewery. I can't get enough.
