LOL...I actually misread what you wrote :stuck_out_tongue:
I am a little curious if the recipe/process is identical for HC, though. Most brewers tend to be up-front if there are process tweaks to a "clean" beer.

Def. understand the skepticism. I would also be interested to find out if the recipe for HC has changed in any significant way since they started brewing it.

40% increase in pounds/barrel of hops than the first batch. Different varieties of hops as well.

I remember having my first Pliny the Younger at GABF years ago and I've had it at least another 4 times. I assume it's a very similar beer year to year, but it's never been good as the first time. Senses dulling with age and/or just higher tolerances for what is considered hoppy.

Can't wait to try this. Is it going to be a one and done...year round? Superfan is my go to IPA now. I rarely get to visit breweries anymore due to my work schedule and I'm a big fan of canned IPAs.

Did anyone else think her shoulder looked like a boo-bee at first glance. Maybe a little more shading in the cleavage area? Love the art work though! And the IPA. Thanks!

Yeah, I thought she had three breasts at first, like one of the mutants in Total Recall. It took me a while to figure out what was up, lol.

It's never as good as the first time. A life lesson for this Friday.

I remember being blown away by PtY and PtE when I first had them. Now I think they (and many other IPA's of that sort) taste too vegetal for me. The beers are more or less the same, but my tastes have made a 180. I'm okay with that, although that style of beer has definitely caught on. I still like some of them, but I full-on hate a few, too.

I wish more people would acknowledge this.... Memory is far from infallible, and people inherently remember certain experiences as either more enjoyable or less so based off their desire to repeat them. Combine that fact with ever-changing palates and taste preferences and you have a recipe for cries of "batch one was better, this year is shit!" or "I'm blown away! Best batch yet!"

I'm blown away by PtE every time i have it. It's an amazing beer. I also love beers that taste like weed so bring on the onions, shallots, garlic, and all hell throw a bloomin onion in there while you are at it!

Ha! You and I are total opposites. More power to ya, though - San Diego is calling your name.

I've had some IPAs in San Diego at Modern Times, Societe and Ballast Point that were mind blowingly good, but I've also had some IPAs and Pale ales in Denver in the same style that are just as good if not better. (Superpower, Juicy Banger, Proboscis, Hop Chops etc). I would love to see a blind taste test between some of the beers that people say are west coast oniony vegetables vs IPA's in the same style from Denver (those with low malt and piney dank hops).

The first PtY I had was bottled, and it was quite strong in hops and bite. Since then, it seems the beer has dried out on the finish and feels thinner, without the hop bite. But still great aroma. Maybe their yeast has changed?

Little's had 1 six pack left when I was over there about an hour ago. But I have a feeling though that we might see some more in the Denver area in the next few days :grinning:

Picked up the last 6er of Superfan in the cooler at Davidsons today. I wasn't too thrilled with batches 2 and 3 so I didn't bother trying the 4th round but I gotta tell ya, this 5.0 is pretty damn good. I'm impressed and pretty stoked to have this local option in cans.
