I know this will show up in many threads but it deserves its own for ongoing discussion.
    CYCLE BREWING

Official-ish announcement regarding BA Day. As most people know, Peg's was sold late last year and so our tradition for Barrel Aged Day must change. The one thing that wont change is the date, it will always be the day (12-5pm) before Hunahpu's Day so in that sense our friends at Cigar City control the calendar. March 11th this year for our event.
Tentative, nearly set in stone plans are for a ticketed event held at one of our favorite places to hang out, the shuffleboard club. Easy to find, its about 3 blocks from the brewery downtown and has plenty of space for what we are anticipating to be anywhere from 3-500 people. We will have more than 1 tap station, more on those details as we figure it out, the only thing we can promise is that we will be as fair as we can possibly be.
Price, when things go on sale, all of that to come in the next couple of weeks, it will run like last year in terms of your name will be on a list so tickets cannot be transferred and you must bring ID to the event. You will be able to buy a ticket for another person.
Beers: no tap list til the day of, bottles are top secret (we haven't even taken any beer out of barrels yet, maple bourbon barrels maybe?) but there should be plenty of beer to go around even with the increase in numbers.

Will tickets be sold online or just at the brewery?

At the brewery, Cycle is cash only and keeps things pretty low tech.

I'm really looking forward to this event. However, my wife does not like ba beers, do they usually have other cycle beers available?

Yeah man, all there session and standard IPAs, usually a porter and a berliner and some odd-ball easy drinker.

I'll have to jump on that bandwagon as well - coming from TX.

Sounds like the out of town folks are gonna need to make arrangements to be a local's 'plus one' - if they do tickets the same as last year.

Let's assume that's the case and out of towners strike out on the ticket front... Will the brewery still be open during the event? Cycle is on my list of places to check out, so I'd love to still go there Friday if possible.

It was open last year on Friday and I'd assume it would be this year as well, since the event on Friday is offsite.

If it's anything like last year, there will be all kinds of bottle release fireworks going on at every brewery, all week in the Tampa area.

Is it crazy to think they could setup a reservation system or something us out of towners might be able to access and still pay cash? They said they'd be as fair as they could possibly be... Or is this just wishful thinking?
