    Good morning, BA!

It's an early start for me, but at least I have something magical to sip on this morning. Finally enjoying some Bourbon County Stout thanks to @creepinjeeper .

The 2015 malt bill has calmed to reveal a more integrated and round raspberry flavor.
The younger one has more of a cocoa flavor and nose upfront.

    Top six raspberry beers:
    Cantillon -- Rosé de Gambrinus
    Dogfish Head -- Fort
3 Stars Brewing -- Zombie Date Night
3 Stars Brewing -- Raspberry Dissonance
Allentown Brew Works -- Space Monkey
    Founders' -- Rubaeus

Space Monkey is a little rough fresh, but if you set it down for 1.5+ years (will try a 5-yr aged one soon, but at least up to 3 yrs) it develops a very smootha nd buttery kind of raspberry flavor.

Still need to test these fresh Forts against a 2008 and a 2010... still need some fresh Gambrinus to check against some older bottles... I doubt Rubaeus will age well, but... it is a punch of mouth-raspberries when you drink it.

Raspberry Dissonance is incredibly light-drinking, very raspberry, and rye-tart. Love it. Lightest of the 6 by far.

Anyway. Back to catching the rest of this sunrise after watching Djokovic bully Murray in the Aussie Open Final.

If I'm going to be up this early, I may as well enjoy myself.

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday!

The baby label is back, and tasting insane as usual. Earthy/lightly fruity roasted coffee notes; with big dark chocolate, cocoa, molasses, toasted oats, dark bread, and light smoke/charred flavors; with a full bodied bittersweet creamy/silky and lightly slick/chalky roasted finish. Mouthfeel is amazing right now. Tons of complexity, super smooth, minimal warming for the ABV. Still plenty on the shelf. Wow, I always like it with a bit of age to round out the flavors; and it is getting to that point after 5 months since bottling.

This is fantastic!! Flavors of huge nutty dark roasted coffee; with chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted bread, vanilla, cream, bourbon, oak, and light dark fruits. Light-moderate bourbon/oak spice and roasted coffee bitterness; nice balanced bitter/sweet finish with a fairly full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel; touch of sticky/chalky coffee notes as well. Warming finish but not really too boozy, smooth sipping stuff. The coffee character in this beer is absolutely enormous. Everything is incredibly well balanced and not overly barrel heavy. Glad I bought more and it is still available on the shelf, so I will be getting more. I feel spoiled to have such easy access to Prairie's BA stuff.

Haven't had this in years, but I am glad it is in MI again finally. Flying Dog just recently gave us the full lineup, we only got a limited amount of their year round stuff previously. That being said, this is a really great English barleywine for it's young age. Big flavors of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, nutty, and light chocolate malts; with balanced raisin, plum, cherry, fig, and apple yeast fruits; with moderate herbal/spicy hop flavors. Medium bitterness, smooth finish, full-ish bodied; with balanced creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Pleasantly warming with no booziness. Will gladly buy it again, I originally reviewed a 1-2 year aged vintage in 2013. English Barelywines are my favorite style, and this fits the bill completely. Delicious.

Tasting amazing this year as usual. Juicy grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate honey/bready malt sweetness and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness; with a balanced creamy/sticky medium-full bodied mouthfeel. Light-moderate dryness. Not overly sweet or bitter, extremely well balanced. Never disappoints.

    Cheers!

Good evening from Beijing, I can't access Facebook and who really cares about that when beeradvocate is all you need. Started my day with a Baby IPA from Master Gao "Chinese craft beer" as the Label says and finished it off with Hop God from Great Leap. There was a Tsingtao and Yanjing mixed in during the day as well. More to come!

    Cheers BAs

I was very impressed with this one. Tasted just like a good Pale Ale from Belgium but only at a fraction of the price.
