In DFW, a single bottle of Prairie Bomb or Okie for $12.99 or a 4pk of Community BBA Legion for $10.99.....not even a decision, Oklahoma can keep it!!!

Interesting. Do you know what they make in Tulsa then?

I had 10oz draft for $8 this week of Bomb! It was good but the bottle is way better. I'm all for treating myself to their delicious beers when I can. Have any of y'all tried Sierra Nevada Hellraiser yet? I had that twice this week and it was fantastic and somewhat similar to Bomb!

Haven't tried anything by them yet. Going to have to at least once I suppose, high price or not.

Just wasn't digging this beer, man. Much prefer BBT, BBH, Legion, and BCBS over this. Although, I'll say that is was better than 903's Balcones BA Sasquatch :grinning:

A 4 pack of BA legion is around $17.99, not $10.99. The $10.99 would be the price for regular Legion.

Guess I should feel lucky I get Bomb! for $6.50 all day. Funny thing is I have friends that still bitch about it at that price.

You guys have plenty of options, so just don't buy Prairie. I also agree with the sentiment about BBA Legion mentioned earlier. What a wonderful beer, and for the price point why would you choose anything else? Enjoy what ya' got.

Contract brewing is where it's at, it seems. High margins and relatively low overhead/initial investment. *cough Evil Twin *cough

Consider yourself lucky then. I made the horrible choice of giving Coffee Okie a try and it was disgusting, one of the worst craft beers I've ever had. It tasted like flat coca-cola with coffee and a little whiskey added. I gave it my best effort but could only stomach a few ounces of it and dumped the rest. Prairie is the most overrated brewery in the nation. I'm beginning to think people try to hype it for trading purposes only.

Pirate Bomb is the one exception that has not been mentioned. I will buy that every time I can.

It's worth what people will pay.

In the Houston area, there is Texas Beer Refinery that sells 64oz growlers of basic beers like brown ale for 17.99. This basically equates to $19.99 six packs.

It's unbelievable that people will pay these prices, but they do. You just gotta be a smart consumer as @aschwab stated.

I had the exact same impression of Coffee Okie as you and had to drain pour about half the bottle, which was difficult after spending $12 on it. Never again...

I do really enjoy the regular bomb! and pirate bomb! though.

I'll try just about anything once, but after a while, price is a concern especially when there are sooooo many options on the market now.

Are people really buying those? I laugh almost every time I see those at HEB because I have the same thought on the price point. I've yet to have a good beer by TBR, everything I've tried on tap has been average to poor.

For what it is worth, Central Market in Southlake has BBA Legion, $16.99/4pk....Oklahoma can keep their bottles of tumbleweed water!!!

Ya. BA Legion is 16.99 minimum...

And legit getting better with every batch.
Can only imagine they have variants in the barrel now.
And once vanilla Ascension gets bottled...or ever barreled...Prairie stouts will be an afterthought in Dallas.
Price will eventually need to be cut by 33% minimum...retail.

Ascension came out in bottles about a month ago. But yes, BA it and variants on the Legion would rock.
