Super Bowl 50 is only a few days away, and although food pairings may require a bit more thought, I was wondering if people had beer plans for the big game.

Maybe Mexican Cake if you're a Carolina fan?

How about an Oak Aged Yeti in support of the Denver Broncos? Coors Original will work too.

As a Broncos fan, I think I might seek out a Denver brew. Something hoppy that will pair well with crawfish.

I'm thinking a cooler full of:

    Block 15 - Sticky Hands
    Sixpoint - Hi-Res

    A bottle each of:

    Perennial - Abraxas
    Alesmith - Speedway Stout

Solid lineup! My friends and I are planning a bottle share. One of them recently got Libertine bottles and a Firestone Lil Opal that I'm hoping he will bring. I'm going to the Block 15 Bourbon Release on Saturday, so I'll probably contribute a Super Nebula. I've also got a bottle of De Garde Vin Lee that I might bring along.

Oskar Blues....they have a brewery in Colorado and North Carolina =)
A local bottle shop has Deviant Dales in 6 packs for $11.99. Additionally, a local grocery store has fresh 6 packs of Dales for $6.99...nice!

It's a tough choice. When to start, what to drink. And the most important thing to think about - staying awake. And don't worry - it's not because I think the game will be boring.

Oskar Blues & New Belgium have breweries in Colorado and NC...and since I'm really digging Citradelic, that could be my game time quaff (been thinking about trying Side Trip, might be a good excuse)

I have some Odell Mycaenary that will be cracked open.

My friend is doing a tasting of beers he bought in NC last month. So that will be quite convenient.

I would love to have some Hop Drop n Roll for this weekend.

Some New Belgium something like the Ranger and of course the classic Banquet Beer from Coors!! Go Broncos! I may live in Las Vegas but I was born and raised, lived in Denver for the first 30 years of my life. Always will be HOME!

Probably highlife, between wings, pizza, chips n dip and a couple moochers I don't think it is a good opportunity to break out the good stuff. Besides an ice cold refreshing highlife every once in a while is a good thing!

Wow, I had never heard of these guys and looked them up. There appears to be a saison/sour theme going on, but they seem to all be highly rated.

As for me, I'm a New England fan, so I'll probably be drinking something bitter.

I already planned out mine with a friend, haven't decided on the order yet though. I'll probably start with something lighter earlier in the day though.

I don't know how well they're known outside of this area, but Troy Casey is the former brewer for Coors' AC Golden division.
He formed his own place 18 months ago. About 70% of his beers are using a mixed-culture saison. Many have fruit added, some have honey. Some are just a saison blend. The other 30% are either lambic-like (my term - not his) and dry hopped or fruited. He does some one-off beers like a biere de garde and a few hoppy tart beers, too. 98% of his beers are Colorado ingredients only, so there's an element of terroir.
I'm a big fan, and having his stuff around is definitely nice. The only downside is that you have to typically trek a few hours into the mountains to get it. It makes for a fun weekend trek, although in ski season it's a sonofabitch to get up there!

Since we can't get any NC beers here (I mean... actually from NC), probably some OB ______ (TBD) since they are in both states. If the Broncos lose, I'm certainly drinking DbC. If they win? Probably some TenFidy.

I hadn't thought of proximity, but Devils Backbone isn't too far away from Carolina. I have an adventure pack and am waiting for an invite.

Great question. Man, Super Bowl week really sneaked up on me. In terms of food, I'll probably whip up a beer cheese spread to accompany some crusty bread or crackers, a secondary dip - hummus or something - some olives, and maybe some nuts. In terms of the beers, I don't really have a lineup or agenda, but will probably reach for something sessionable and versatile - a few pilsners, a few pales, a lighter porter (Black Butte comes to mind), and maybe one or two bigger beers - a baltic porter or DIPA - just to round things out.
