He accepted the trade and flaked. IMHO this is a clear cut example of a bad trader. If @jnorton1993 had a "semi" decent excuse (short on cash, sickness, whatever) then maybe I'd give him some slack, but "I forgot about this I have plenty of zombie dust sorry" isn't going to cut it.

I know, I'm just a stickler for detail  And agree, even if purchased in multiple shops around town still a total PITA.

Amazed and impressed that you drove 160 miles round trip for a case of fresh ZD...holy shit but Heady just might be worth it so understood!

I believe this is a big part of why the trade request system was implemented in the first place, to prevent this kind of thing from happening. Too many noobs treating BA like a FB or Reddit group. Agree with @evilcatfish, bad trader.

The new information about him driving 3 hours, especially if that was known to @jnorton1993 pushes me from neutral to thinking this is a bad trader. OP drove that distance relying on the trade to happen. It took significant expense, time and effort.

Even if you want to back out at that point, you need to follow through with the trade. Bad Trader, IMO.

Agreed. To be honest though, even if the OP didn't explicitly state the travel and cost, it is still really bad form... People make trade deals all the time that involve going shopping for someone. If I agreed to a trade where I was sending some Pipeworks and Daisy Cutter all I have to do is walk a block to the store, but I would still be pissed as I am out $$ on beer and have had some arsehole mess me around.

The kicker here is that this guy has 6 open trades, and is potentially screwing a bunch of other people who have agreed to trade with him... Hopefully these people have spotted the thread / found out this guy is flaky, and are asking him to ship first.

Well...he's on the site right now @jnorton1993
Maybe tagging him a 7th time will get him to comment in here and explain to his trade partner and everyone else what happened.

No need to pile on guys. If he doesn't want to explain he can take his feedback and we will leave this up.

    You don't mean that.

Bad traders deserve a kick in the groin.

OP: I'd happily make that trip worth your while if there is anything I have or can get for you. I'll even send a label, good traders shouldn't have to deal with this crap.

I've said it many times: you don't have to steal beer to be a bad trader. This seems like a perfect case where that applies.

One question: I was under the impression that failure to respond to these threads carried a stiffer penalty, like some kind of trade privileges being revoked. Not saying that definitely needs to happen here, but more curious about the standard that is in place. Do you have to steal beer to lose/be temporarily suspended from trading?

He didn't steal beer, he just didn't follow through. Both cases = Bad trader in my book. He got what he deserved, in this case, negative feedback. He doesn't need to respond, if he chooses not to that's his choice, but its his reputation on the line and no one elses. The thread will stay for reference (as mentioned above) and will be locked up soon, so we all can move forward. We are just trying to be fair and give the trader in question an opportunity if he wants to speak.

As far as having *trading privelages* being suspended- there are multiple ways to get them revoked, and you don't have to steal beer to lose them.

We agree 100% on both counts--him not stealing beer *and* being a bad trader. Backing out in that manner is just a shitty thing to do to someone.

I was just trying to understand if there was a guideline for when trading privileges were revoked or if it is more of a case-by-case basis. As you point out, whether or not his privileges are revoked, he will undoubtedly have to deal with any impact his response (or lackthereof, as it were) has on his personal trading reputation. Appreciate the reply.

All things aside- I wouldn't be offering the op any beer. Appears he mostly sells and cant seem to follow rules here, even in his second acct he's been restricted currently for trading.

I'm going to lock this up shortly. Both parties can take it for what it is. Op isn't stuck on the beer as bad as it sounds.

OPs first was terminated. He's on his second acct now which will probably be shut down shortly. He whines about being stuck with the beer, sure it was a bad trade and whatnot. But he's not that bad off or stuck with it. He's a reseller and it's been sold anyways so he's out nothing.

He's also restricted currently from trading here due to not being able to follow rules himself.
