It's hard to take their don't drive drunk or drink responsibly messages seriously when a majority of their commercials are aimed towards party drinking. These commercials seem pretty insincere.

Unlike the responsible drinking that goes on at beer fests and BA Imperial Stout bottle release parties!

    (Actually, I agree, but I am a bit of a wiseass...)

Solid content, but I question the choice of the bearer. She's not really on the radar of the demographic I'd say it was aimed at...maybe this is what Amy & Seth should be saying.

Who in the world are Amy & Seth???

I disagree. I've seen plenty of people in their 40's, 50's or 60's stumbling out of a restaurant (like the video) towards their cars after several hours of drinking and eating. In my experience younger drinkers, although more visible and more likely to binge drink, are more aware of drunk driving and take more precautions to avoid it. Older generations are less likely to take advantage of alternatives like public transit, Uber/Lyft, etc. and many have bad "buzzed driving" habits from days when law enforcement tended to look the other way.

I don't like the moral certitude of commercials like this. The problem is that with the reduction in the blood alcohol level, it is increasingly difficult to tell if one is over the limit. At 0.08, 2 Budweisers could put a driver over the limit unless he/she eats or hangs out for awhile. I am blessed. My wife only drinks at home, and occasionally, so I always have a designated driver when we go out. Most folks aren't so fortunate. I'm not condoning driving after drinking. Eventually, even one beer will be too much and we'll have to adjust accordingly.

I've actually seen the exact opposite. At least by me older drivers either plan ahead with designated drivers, or take cabs. Younger drivers seem less aware of their inebriated state.

Not defending Bud, but you can party and drink till you barf, but that doesn't mean you have to drive drunk.

I think laws are too focused on the BAC. The penalties for drunk driving are way too lenient. Make the penalties harsher instead of lowering the BAC.

The point isn't to reduce DWIs. The point is to keep drunk people from driving and injuring or killing innocent people.

I don't condone drunk driving either, although I think someone should be able to have two beers after work and drive home without breaking the law, but that's a different discussion. There is something about this video that just makes my skin crawl. Maybe it's the insincerity of it coming from Budweiser, maybe it the woman, I can't put my finger on it. I can't remember who told me this, but it makes more sense than just about anything I've ever heard. When they tell you to drink responsibly, they don't mean it. If everyone drank responsibly they'd go out of business.

Weird that the company selling $15 suitcases and making sugar loaded malternatives that practically scream, "Hey teenagers, look over here!" is lecturing us to drink responsibly.

Wow, Bud can't even put out a commercial warning people to avoid drinking and driving without getting hate on this site. Tough crowd :grimacing::wink:

Totally weird. I mean, when I tell people that I drank as a teenager and when I tell them that I drive drunk, I get the same dirty look. Not really, though.
