...and many other states https://twitter.com/cascadebrewing/status/695008829096882176 Exciting news! We're working w/distributors to bring Cascade sours to the following states: DC, ME, MD, MI, OH, SC, TN, VA & WI, stay tuned!
Awesome to see them hit distro in other areas. Will be interested to see how it does as its readily available here in IL and doesn't move much (I'm assuming the $20+, price tag has something to do with this).
Presumably they're just taking all the beer they can't sell on the west coast and seeing if some 'fresh faces' will take it off their hands.
Yay, overpriced AWAs hitting our shelves. To be fair, I guess I get spoiled by New Glarus' $10 bottles of wilds, although of course these never hit the shelves here. Still, like in other places, $30 bottles of AWAs might lose some traction after a while.
Bought the strawberry one when they first started distributing to Chicago last year and it was one of the most off tasting, unpleasant beers I've ever had. I have to assume this is an anomaly as I know the brewery is generally well regarded, but hard to give them another shot given the price point.
Your point is taken, ha. Good thing we'll have Almanac to help bridge the gap as well. I have found the Cascade sours on draft to be tastier compared to out of the bottles, some of which can be hit or miss. I've had super sour Apricot bottles, but also fruity and oaky Apricot bottles as well. I've had a terrible Blueberry bottle but on draft, it was nicely done. My point is that its going to be hit or miss, and the misses are going to hurt even more at the premium pricing level.
