There's quite a bit of room between extreme A and extreme B and it is a very simple mind that cannot understand that and continues to argue such that there isn't.

I agree with the message and definitely think drinking and driving is a bad idea I just don't think bud genuinely gives a shit about it.

Actually, there are. A large portion of their clientele. Don't judge them based on your college years. There are a lot of people out there who buy a 30 pack of Bud so they "always have beer in the fridge," and that 30 pack lasts them a month or two. You'd be surprised.

I wouldn't call them idiots I think it's necessary to advertise these types of messages when actively advertising the way they do. I definitely don't genuinely think they care about responsibility.

I couldn't help notice that the label wasn't fully displayed the entire time in the video. Obviously, even the side of a Bud label needs no introduction, but this is a first in ANY ad l've ever seen. Honest ad lib, or "Let's make it look like this isn't an ad, but..."? Just a little more fuel for y'all...

Not that I'm seeking an award for this, but I generally don't go anywhere in my vehicle unless I feel I could easily drive without a problem. Alcohol does not give me false confidence, it actually makes me more self aware of my choices.

Keep in mind that you said that and no one else. So you made one wild assumption and then swung sarcastically to the other side of the argument in an effort to...what?

    I completely agree.

But I highly doubt the person buying the case of Enjoy By is drinking just one in a sitting either.

My point was that the Budweiser is in a format that at least lends itself to responsible drinking. Just because it comes in a 30 pack doesn't mean you need to drink it irresponsibly. Ice cream comes in gallons, I don't eat an entire gallon at once.

But the case of Stone Enjoy By (there's plenty of people buying it by the case too, read the threads) or even a 22 oz. bottle (which is ~3.5 beers by itself) is in a format that does not lend itself to responsible drinking. This is due to the format, the alcohol content, and the best by date.

But I agree with you, the Bud drinker most likely isn't drinking a 30 pack responsibly. But neither is the Enjoy By consumer. Again, I'm not judging, I think most people on this website have more than what is considered "responsible" drinking (2 drinks a day for a male...etc.). I think you can still respect beer, not black out from drinking, and have more than 2 drinks in a sitting. Myself included.

That's not how I drank when Bud Light was my go to. I used to buy 30 racks. Let's not paint everyone who drinks Bud with a broad brush to fit your own agendas.

    I thought this quote:

"Anyone who is serious about preventing drunk driving should not ever get in bed with the alcohol industry because the industry has the goal of getting more people to drink and when more people drink you have more drunk driving,"

was particularly interesting because it totally ignores the reasons for repeal of prohibition, i.e., the failed experiment, that arguably created several conditions that were worse in some ways than those it may have eliminated.

"Old hag?" Now you're behaving more offensively than that commercial. (Although I'm not bothered by the commercial one bit.) If you really want to look into what she was doing in her 20s, you can rent it:

I'm not an ad exec by any stretch, but if I had to throw my "Stayed at Holiday Inn Express" opinion in, I'd say that one, she has a British accent which typically attracts attention and is viewed as being a tad more intellectual than most other dialects. Two, she seems to come across as giving a motherly scold. This factor may very well resonate better than a couple squawking smart asses that have already oversaturated much of media. Finally, can you tell me what Ms. Mirren's opinions are off the top of your head with regard to politics and social topics in general? Probably not, because as you put it - she's not really on any radars. She's not divisive, and therefore won't immediately make half the country roll their eyes and tune her out based on other things they've said or done.

More proof that you have to be crazy to live there.

Probably not as much as YOU'D think. A large majority of people who buy their beer buy it with intents of drinking large amounts and getting inebriated. SOME might actually drink in moderation, but it pales in comparison to the "Woooooooooooooooooooo" crowd they advertise about and to.

Ah, yes. I remember reading about this survey that measured the attitudes and behaviors of Budweiser consumers.

Actually, I didn't, and I don't think it exists. What I think is going on is that you are trying to express your assumptions and opinions as facts. Stop it.
