After spending the last two weeks stepping up a starter of 644, finally going to brew a Brett Trois IPA on Sunday. Whirlpool hops only per @psnydez86.

Also cleaning kegs, kegging an Oaked Mild and a version of my house ESB with wlp013. Happy Super Bowl weekend folks.

Brewing a kolsch for springtime this weekend. In a few weeks, I plan to use the yeast cake for a smokey porter to store 'til the fall.

Bottled my brown ale just now, 13 days after brewing it. Got to love Notty, it had dropped clear

    OG 1.063
    FG 1.013

    Sample tasted good.

Picked up ingredients today to brew a Trappist single. Plan on cranking that one out in a couple days. Also kegging my Irish stout this weekend.

I think I've figured out what to do with these Milwaukee's Best and Natty Ice tallboys people left at my house. Going to dump them into a carboy, pitch some malto and start adding dregs from various sours. Add some oak in 6 months and dry hop at the end to create a nice American Macro Lager Golden Sour.

Are you part of the MtF group? There was a post on there earlier about dumping Brett into Bud.

Yeah, I just saw that too. Not a bad idea for an experiment. Can't be any worse than what you're starting with!

Adroit Theory has made a couple beers cleverly named "cannibalism" which use a popular American adjunct lager in place of water for brewing. Never tasted them, but I award style points for the creative gimmick.

Made my starter tonight for my Pilsner next Saturday. Have to do a step starter to get my count up, so Sunday I will start cold crashing the first step (1.25L). Then make the next starter on Tuesday (1.8L) and cold crash by Thursday. Hoping all the timing works out. Using WLP800.

I am! I had been contemplating it for a while and that post brought that back to the top of my todo list.

Kegged Columbus mosaic Nelson pale after 3 days on Nelson and Columbus dry hops. Washed 2 nice San Diego super jars and took my other fermenter out of the water bath for a diacetyl rest and an extra few days on mosaic and Columbus dry hops. Excited for the extra Burlington ale yeast off of this one. Smelled super fruity in the starter

I wanted a fermenter from which I could do closed transfers without having to worry (as much) about over-pressurizing.

Got my stout chilling rightt now. Frozen chiller lines, impatience, and map gas lead to an exploding vinyl line on the IC, so my kettle is stuffed into the pile of snow next to my driveway. Snowbank stout FTW.

Almost had that happen last weekend. Had to torch my sillcock. Snow bank beer is great though and you don't have to do anything but wait 3 or 4 hours

@SFACRKnight it'll cool faster in the open air. Prop it up on a pair of 2x4's to keep it off the ground too

using up my 8oz of experimental grapefruit hops today in a pale ale. smelled awesome when i opened them... then as they warmed became strongly dank/oniony/garlicy. Luckily i have a friend who loves onion bombs and has already signed an informed consent on that exact possibility.
