Tax season has me HURTIN, just walked through the door from a 14 hour day at the office (where I only managed to bill 10 hours... wtf?!) anyways, I don't always get to drink a beer during tax season but when I do its thanks to the generosity of @core42 and his second round newbie box... This thing came right outta the fridge and the first sip was boooooooozy, really tasted that 11.2 percent. With some warmth its getting a nice highly sweet and broad roasted flavor unfolding, although its hinting at the possibility it may go overboard if I let it sit too long. Im finding that for my tastes I think I might actually prefer rye barrel aging to bourbon, it adds a nice dusty burl to the flavor that serves as a good counterpoint to all the sweetness. This is a great beer man, thanks a lot for sharing it with me.
Had one of those weeks too I see ..... On side note I just came across some Lawson's sos and #2. Figured I'd ask you guys if anyone wants to set something up?? Got an extra 4 & 6 pk. I guess first one to respond
#VBS From my buddy @Elkevjoe from winning his LIF. Excellent beer and #pgw. Btw this picture is the 3d Ultrasound that my wife and I had of our daughter tonight. Cheers guys!
Haven't been around much but wanted to say thanks again to @beluga92. Finally had a chance to open up this No Rules. I would recommend it to everyone.
@StompingClover glad you liked it, I have another I've been meaning to try, looking forward to it even more now.
Kiss my ass man! It's Friday, yes, but I'm at work until 6 - and work until 3 tomorrow. I'm still drinking a couple nice beers tonight anyway!
Had to dig back to page 62 to find the original post/box these #VBS beers came from Had to wait for a time I could side by side these two and tonight was the night as my nightcap. Split with my GF as we watched cooking shows. Base beer is legit. Kind of a cocoa hint, maybe a touch of banana on the nose. Medium roast for a stout. A tiny touch drier/astringent. BA version definitely wins tho. So much more rounded out and more complex. Smooth chocolate, picks up some vanilla. Less of that dry note and none of the banana hints. A tiny bit a booze and a bit of oak. Slightly sweet finish. Thanks @Elkevjoe!!!
Been quite here the last couple days......... Where are all yous Anyway a little #vbs thanks @Greeny87 absolute deliciousness
Hey I'm still here just not much going on but am planning on the Stallion release at Smutt labs on the 13th. If anyone is interested let me know. Don't know if the will be any of the smoked cherry short Weiss left but if @Homebrew wants any I'll check while I'm there
Wow I can't believe this thread is still going. I don't have the time to read through everything but this is amazing. I am so happy to be apart of the original group of people in this BIF. Let's do another one. How does this all work?
