Milk and Hops only serves variations of milk (2%, whole, skim, soy), no hops - don't go there looking for Grimm.. unless it Grimm is on the next up list - if that is the case, kick whatever is on tap.

@Grimm_Artisanal_Ales What do you recommend in terms of the length of time one can wait to drink your BA beers? I had the 2014 BADN about a year from release and the barrel character was gone. Not totally shocking. But then over the blizzard a few weeks ago I drank a bottle of 2015 BADN and again the barrel character was gone and it tasted just like regular DN. Do you recommend drinking these BA beers as fresh as possible, like one of your IPAs? I don't have a bottle of BADN sitting in front of me so I can't remember if there's a "drink fresh" warning on it or not. If there is, please ignore this question completely!

I asked this question a few weeks ago in this thread and @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales let me know that it'll age well. But if you drank it recently and the barrel character was gone maybe I should drink my remaining bottle sooner rather than later...

Like everything else, the barrel notes will change over time. When a bourbon barrel beer is fresh it will have a more pronounced alcohol heat, a bourbony burn... The beer will become smoother over time as the alcohol notes become more integrated. For this reason many people like to age these beers. But if you want the most intense alcoholic bourbon barrel notes, yes you should drink them fresh. The cellarmanship of the bottle is really in your hands and it's up to you to decide the best moment to enjoy it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty familiar with aging stouts but it's nice of you to take the time to respond. That's awesome. I think "smoother," at least in the case of the three BADNs I had, would be an understatement. So I will likely drink all these within the first month going forward.

Had the BA DN on tap at One Mile House yesterday, and it had A LOT of barrel character for what it's worth...

@Grimm_Artisanal_Ales when can we expect to start seeing these in stores? Always excited to see what you'll come up with next.

Yeah I didn't even bother try to get any Grimm at EBF. I would say second longest line after Tree House. Hopefully I can grab some of the release this week.

    hey everybody,
EBF was bananas. We honestly had now idea we were about to get slammed like that -- it was a little bit stressful but also very gratifying. It was great meeting a number of the Grimm thread regulars. Thank you all.

Yea it apparently dropped in NC early. I noticed it on trade boards a few days ago and someone mentioned it.

Don't think it was mentioned -- will MBDN be only in bottles, or will we also see kegs of it?
