Bad Bif'er: Telly13

    @Telly13 was a member of our BIF Fantasy Football league, in which he came in last (0-14). As such, Telly was supposed to send me a box of beer. The guide lines for what to include were pretty loose but most other league members shipped some great regional IPAs (TH, Dinner, Sue ect.) and maybe a nice stout or two.

    It has now been over a month since the league has concluded. Everyone aside from Telly has either shipped or expressed intentions of shipping, all the while Telly hasn’t responded to a group message in over 3 months. I have tried to message him directly (Jan 22nd and again on the 28th); the commissioner has tried to message him directly (3+ weeks ago), neither of use received any messages back. I don’t have a phone number for him. I did send him an email (yahoo) last week and haven’t heard back. Needless to say he hasn’t responded to numerous messages.

    He is active in the forums which makes this frustrating. It appears he hasn't been on BA since the 26th, but prior to that he was posting regularly. Telly has a bunch of good trades so I don’t know why he would flake, hopefully this gets his attention and he responds to a message!

    @xugrad13 How's about you updating your wants, which currently is (zero) while we are all waiting for @Telly13 to possibly fulfill his obligations.

    With your list of wants (minus KBBS, of course) maybe someone or some BA's may be able to send something your way :wink:....just sayin'

    Holy Crap. @Telly13 did it to us too. I let him in our fantasy football league this year namely because he had a lot of positive trade feedback. He was way out of contention and the first warning sign was right before the playoffs -- he intentionally pulled all of his players and put in guys who were injured or not playing. Bad etiquette that really could have screwed the last few teams competing for the playoffs.

    He then ignored three PMs (never read them). He then ignored an email. I then called him directly last Tuesday and spoke with him directly. He apologized and just said he was busy, but that he'd send his box. He's local to me, so I reminded him that we're in some of the same beer circles and it would be unwise of him to not honor his obligations. I really didn't think he'd flake because who'd ruin an account of 28 successful trades on account of a BIF box? The next day he deleted his account. Fat1City reinstated his account in hopes that my last PM a couple of days ago would be sent to his email and catch him off guard. FWIW... here is his contact information as it appears that your league may not have his phone number.

    Just tried calling him again, btw. He didn't pick up. I'll certainly keep everyone posted as I don't plan to let this go easily.

    Well this sucks he flaked on two leagues and deleted his account. Sounds like there might be an outside chance that @heatwaves can get him to come through on his boxes... not holding my breath!

    Get him @heatwaves- this just drives me crazy, why in the world would you cheat a BIF? It's such an oxymoron.

    This actually really surprises me...I've traded with Telly13 on two separate occasions and both times communication was great and shipping was prompt. I generally just watch these threads, weird to see someone I've traded with as the subject of one. Hope it all gets squared away.

    At this point I'm just assuming he (@Telly13 ) flaked and is gone. Oh well, I'd like to think most peoples name and reputation are worth more than $50 (beer and shipping). Apparently not though, may all his future beers be skunked.

    Not on my end. I haven't really tried to reach out anymore. All I have to contact him is BA and his yahoo email address. If this situation changes in the next 6 days, I will be out of the country and unable to reply to any messages until next Friday (just a heads up).

    For what it's worth, I texted Telly13 (at least the phone number I was given) to see if he intended to make good on his end of the BIF. I'm sure you guys are just as shocked as I'm that he didn't respond (gave him 48 hours before this post).
