Not sure about DC, but VA doesn't get 4 Hands distro. MD does though.

More expensive beer coming our way. This from Cascade:

"Exciting news! We are working with distributors to bring Cascade sours to the following states: Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington DC & Wisconsin. We will announce details when we have them!"

Supposedly both Cascade and Wicked Weed are coming to VA in the near future.

NYC area gets Cascade distro. Blueberry, Strawberry, Figaro, they all just sit on shevles there.

Cascade is more expensive than Bruery. But, the beers can be aged. And they are quite good, definitely worth it on the occasion. NOVA is a little weak on sours.

I had heard that about Wicked Weed, so I was pretty disappointed when they announced last week that they are expanding distro to Boston.

The day has finally come. I will have to get a second job.

It will be interesting to see the pricing in the DC area for Cascade. At the brewhouse, the Kriek, Apricot, Blueberry go for $20 but since they stopped shipping directly, prices at retailers selling Cascade seemed to have skyrocketed as they usually are around $28-$30.

$20 is pricey but justifiable for their quality (IMO) but $30 seems nuts.

Yea these bottles tend to be $35+ in NYC, so I think a $30+ price point in DC would be expected.

Does anyone know why this is? Crooked Stave sells their amazing beer for the same price at the source (pun intended) as at retailers.

Have to +1 Aslin. I've really been impressed the last month or 2. My favorite so far is A Small Town in Ontario. Should be back on draft soon.

Heard their crazy bottle collection is being sold using DC gray laws. It is nice to have the bottles available if you can fork over the dough, but unfortunate no stores will ever get them.

Check a Harris Teeter if you have one nearby. The one near me in Central Virginia was selling the for $11.99 all day and people were apparently leaving with 4+ sixers each. One person said the SKU was not coming up in the system when scanned so the mgr. was just ringing them up for that price. I can't imagine how much money they lost yesterday on it.

I heard this too and then a few days later saw the Boston announcement. It made no sense initially but then I did some more digging and read there are family ties in Boston with WW. It also goes along with their wanting to expand initially into large markets. Hopefully they fill in the gaps in between with VA coming sooner rather than later!
