There was talk about the next round being in April. No formal signup has gone out yet. We have a couple traveling boxes that are going around, the #CIF (cushion it forward) and #GIF (Growler it forward). You can enter into these as the next person posts. I think @hardysf has the #CIF but I don't know who has the #GIF.
Quite right, I had made mention that I'd send out sign-ups early February, a timeframe that is quickly closing. I'll get to work on that. Anyone have suggestions for a theme, or just "send some good beers"?
The swag theme was cool, but $$, I'm still waitin on mine as well. I like the just "good beer idea" or how bout "must include a growler"?
I liked the swag idea from the last one, but think it is best around the holidays. I'm up for just good beer. Don't know how hard it would be for everyone, but maybe 12-32 oz must be rated 95 (97?) or higher on BA, although it seems most have met this anyway.
You never got your BIF 2 box??!! Also, @LehighAce06 i think just some cool beers are cool. Maybe include one swag glass? Keeping it simple is cool, but proper glassware is also super cool.
I like the one swag item idea. And I'll second the cool beers also. I'd like a box of my senders favorite local to him beers. Beers you can pick up most of the time without standing in a 4 hour line. But also getting a growler only beer is cool. Ahh the hell with just send lots of cool beer!
#Vbs Pours a little thin and the taste follows suit, but everything else is spot on. Rum barrel comes through just enough but not boozy at all. Delicious. Thanks @smanson56!
Sounds like a consensus for 1 piece of swag and an overall beer-focused "whatever you want"/"locals" (sound familiar?) round. I'll type up a signup and get it going. @Homebrew: how is this the first I'm hearing of you having never received your Round 2 box???? I apologize for not being more on top of it myself, it's been a ridiculous past few months. Please BM me.
I love my glassware from the summer BIF. Nice 16 oz semi tulip and teku. They are definitely in the rotation. I'd definitely be down for more glassware or fun, not a t-shirt swag. I think growlers/crowlers are fun too.
Generally if the BIF includes, but isn't themed around, swag it's technically sender's choice but recipients always are given the chance to voice their preference(s) when signing up. This can be as simple as glassware vs tshirt, or more specific such as "prefer a teku or mini-taster, definitely no shaker pints". I don't know that I'd want to require g(c)rowlers, some areas have funky laws when it comes to those things, but I'm all for encouraging them whenever possible.
Cheers to @smanson56 and his friend's wicked bottle openers. Helped me get through one of the most heavily waxed bottles I've ever had to endure; just chipped away enough wax to get the opener under the cap and leveraged the shit out of it.
