It is sad to see this brewery has closed. I managed to find one of these before it becomes extinct. It is a great RIS.

    Good morning everyone,

Tasting and sipping SN Porter for the first time, quite an experience. Props Murica!

More deck work today (and 30 degrees here in sunny Fla). Bottled 8/26/14 and so rich and velvety:

Decided to end my 'night' (see: working 8pm-6am for the next few months) with this BIG beer. Found one of these on the shelves a week or so ago, and I've never had it before. At 14.5% ABV, it definitely packs a punch, yet masks the ABV very well. There seems to be quite a bit of deviation with the ratings here, but I'm definitely enjoying it as I type this.

Agreed. They did a great job of it. I had my first brew by them in Boston, Jack D'Or, on vacation. I reviewed it on BA, then went to their website and dropped them a line. They got back to me within minutes and asked me to meet them in Cambridge and have a drink. Sadly, I had plans and couldn't join them, but how cool is that? I know they fought the good fight - sounds like it wore them out. Sorry to see them go, they were/are super cool people and they make great beer.

    Morning, BA's, and happy Thursday

30 years ago today, my Dad passed away at age 57 from colon cancer

I get my love of the water and all things related to boats from him.....have often wondered what it would have been like to share a nice craft beer with him (he was mostly a Bud drinker); he never got to meet my daughter, as she was born 6 years after he died.

One of the things he passed on to me, was this lovely 1913 BN Morris wood / canvas canoe (made in Veazie Maine)....I will treasure it always!

Found this beer in my cellar - which seems like a fitting "tribute beer" to my old man.....will likely have a Bud later this evening in his honor as well.....

@BeerVikingSailor Good post I'm grateful that my father is still around past 70 despite some arguments we've been through.

Good morning BAs! Still spitting snow here in NW PA - we've been buried under nearly two inches in the last 24 hours - it's so bad that only four of my students made it to class last night, including one that lives 30 miles back in the woods. Guess who'll get any extra points handed out at the end of the semester! No extra points for this however:

If it indeed follows the Reinheitsgebot, should it taste all corny like an AAL? One and done.
