    Finally decided to give this one a try after picking up a 4 - pack @ 4Elf in December. Sarsaparilla 666 Stout. I was a little worried when the bottle gushed a bit upon opening, but damn is this one tasty beer.

    Good morning all. A beautiful day shaping up here in north central FL. Before today's work on the decks gets under way, a beer from the cellar, bottled 1/23/13, and one of my favorites - Trappistes Rochefort 10:

    Three years out and the alcohol is warming and sherry like; notes of figs, dates, and caramel; flavors of figs, plums, tobacco, dirt, sugary raisins and caramel malt; medium to full mouthfeel and verging on chewy; one of my few score 5 beers!

    Haha these guys start early on, on this side of the pond these threads usually start around 2pm. I rarely drink very early in the morning unless I'm doing the all nighter and skipping the night. But I haven't done that since college.

    A cheeky pilsener from Fourpure (London), which went down a treat. Good crisp but firm malt presence with a load of lovely fruity and spicy hops chucked in to boot.

    For dessert a London Porter from Marks and Spencer supermarket, made for them by Meantime. So it's essentially just relabelled Meantime London Porter. It's like a proper 18th century London porter too - no burnt bitterness here. Smokey, dark brown and almost slightly sweet, with even a hint of barrel-aged funkiness.

    I never realized it was brewed prior to 2015 (that is, until you mentioned this). Wow does the vanilla come through in this one. Awesome beer for sure.

    Lol, it's LATE for me. Being that I work in commercial flooring, I get the privilege of working nights when we are doing retail stores (see: Spartan Nash - D&W, Family Fare, etc...). I'm working from 8pm-6am (early night/morning today heh), so this was a post work (and start of my weekend) beer. Nothing like winding down to a good beer after work, or waking up to one for that matter either :slight_smile:.

    Happy Friday, Advocates of Alcoholic Malt Beverages.....

    Cold as f*** out today and this weekend is not looking very warm either....may have to break out my cross country ski sticks and thrash about a bit in the snow! Have not been skiing once yet this year, due to the El Nino warm winter here....also planning to drive up to Fatheads Taphouse / Production brewery later today, to score some just packaged Hop Juju...hell yeah! Bought a case last February, and will likely do the same...a great beer
