You won a ticket to the Bahamas. No questions asked. You get on the plane and the next thing you know you wake up on a deserted island. The plane must have went down. You find yourself miraculously unhurt. The island is quaint, but you quickly find that you have everything that you need. Palm trees for shade? CHECK. Food and water sources? YES. Outdoor plumbing? Strange, but YEAH! You stumble to the center of the island where you find mysteriously large refrigerators, running on solar power, as well as numerous crates. The crates have the name of your local homebrew store on them. You open the crates to find that they are full of grains to your heart's desire. Moreover, the crates are full of all the equipment you need for brewing. You go to open the fridges. You find all of the yeast that you'd ever want. Dry, liquid, bugs, and even your favorite seasonals. You name it, it's there. The freezers? You know what's in the freezers. You swing the doors open to find mylar bag after mylar bag of hops. Upon careful inspection you find that all of the hops are only one variety. Fortunately, this is the perfect variety for this situation.

You only get one variety of hop to brew with for the rest of your beach bum life. What is it?

    That's easy: Czech Saaz.

Everybody knows that a Bohemian Pilsner is the perfect desert island beer!!

    Cheers!

    Tropical Island huh???

Give me about 5 metric tons of Citra to get started.

Citra dry hopped sours, tropical Citra pales and IPA's. Damn this Citra life is fantastic.

I'll take good ole Cascade. I always figured Hallertau is my real favorite, but I think I'd miss the lovely grapefruitiness too much. Hmm.... so I guess I wonder if maybe Cascade truly is my favorite hop?! I dunno...... yeah... Cascade.

I live and brew in the tropics. The only hops I want for the rest of my life are amarillo, citra, EKG, styrian goldings, centennial, mosiac, cascade, saaz, hallertau, triskell, simcoe, columbus, fuggles, tettnanger, willamette, & el dorado* (and some hop extract for when I get serious)**.

    Yeah I know, you're talking fantasy . . . but I'm talking homebrew .

*with the reservation to amend as mo' better hops are invented . . .

**and some decent stemware . . . I ain't drinking a Trappist Quad out of a fuckin' coconut  .

I'll take that Hallertau, thank you very much! German pils, Kolsch, and all things Belgian. For grapefruitiness, well, I'll use grapefruits!

Centennial, it'll be hot so I'm a figuring low demand for stouts, which sucks, but I'll work on a centennial stout in the shade eating ribs, in the shade ,,,,yahoooooo

My wife and I are watching Lost (again, for her. First time for me) on Netflix, so this is an easy jump for me, mentally.

I'd have to go with Chinook. It's versatile, has a diverse flavor profile, and it's the one I use more than anything else.

    Fun thread!

I could make a lot of different beers with just Centennial.

What did you take an hour before you wrote this thread?

My tastes have changed over the years but I think I could get by with Spalt.
