If that is the case then I take back my snarkyness.

Hi, I'm that guy. I've kept a grand total of two of those bottles. All the rest are getting sent to people around the US, at cost, with me asking for absolutely nothing in return. People like Cascade. I helped people get Cascade. It's still available for purchase so I clearly didn't cut into sales for people who want it.

I'm a horrible human being :slight_frown: I even had someone come to me late, so I sent him one of the three I had set aside for me.

Okay, but the important question is: are the bottles actually any good?

One of the bartenders at the barrel house told me to keep an eye out for Elderberry bottles. No indication of timing, but man is that a tasty beer I would like more of.

OK, so everyone's scared to crack a bottle at that price. Why don't a few of us PDXers head down there while it's still on sale, split a bottle, and put it side-by-side with the live barrel version?

Clearly you should be banned for breaking the rules which abhor muling!

I'd be game to do that after work today, although I think the live-barrel will be pulled by then to make room for the next one.

I had it from the bottle recently. It was good, but not up there with their best. I had it next to a sampler of The Vine, and thought that The Vine tasted much better.

I've never had it direct from the barrel, but judging by what people are saying, I think they messed up on the bottle conditioning. This would kind of explain the delay in releasing this. Same as Strawberry. Sampled it directly from the barrel a few months ago and thought it was fantastic. From the bottle? Not so much.

I would be interested in doing the bottle split sometime this weekend. My gf and I just got an apartment down in Portland and it would be awesome to meet some new BA's.

If I went on Saturday it would have to be before 2pm. Picking up a buddy at the airport.
