Sounds legit. I love Money IPA, but had some very fresh Barrier Suburb IPA recently and it was absolutely bonkers.

This collab will be fire no matter what. Brb, getting in line now.

Can we get some @Kanger (or anyone else with OH factoids) confirmation that the tweeks to this batch of AGE were intentional (rather than hop availability, extraneous circumstance, etc.)?

BC if so I am excited to see where OH takes this. This new AGE has the hallmarks of a VT/NE style IPA while retaining the classic OH clean finish and malt backbone. That's a winning combination for me -- all the juiciness, no sacrifice on complexity.

I was wondering the same thing. My guess is they were so happy with the way 2nd Anniversary came out, that they intentionally altered the AGE recipe to get a bit closer to that. Can't believe how clean it finishes with an ABV that high.

I'm not sure. Actually I haven't even tasted this batch of AGE yet.

I assumed the same, just would love some confirmation. My friend will ask the guys at OH and I'll report back here.

As for the ABV -- another change to this batch of AGE is the total lack of heat. In previous batches I felt that AGE would come out of the can hot, especially when the beer was fresher than 4 weeks. Now: cool as a refrigerated cucumber in summertime. Sooooo damn crushable.

I'm completely speaking out of school here but I don't feel that this is a coincidence considering they've collabed with Trillium and Tired Hands in the past month or so. I said it earlier: Street Green was great. Oat Overdose was impressive for what they were going for. And 2nd Anny and Stacks are both top fuckin notch. So....I wouldn't be surprised if they "tweaked" any of their flagship IPAs.

I'm a Chicagoan visiting NYC today and tomorrow. Any idea if the brewery has cans for sale right now? Are they distributed (and available for purchase) elsewhere in the city?

    Thanks in advance.

No cans available at the brewery or elsewhere, they sold out of their most recent canning run on Saturday. Brewery is closed today, but you can stop by tomorrow and get growlers. They also might still have bottles left of In Absentia Luci, an imperial stout - can anyone confirm?

Being released Saturday at Barrier.... assume if there's any left, it will hit distro, like their other bottles.

I remember reading someone's post about OH installing a centrifuge filter. I bet the new filtering system helped out.

Yep they got one, but it's not up and running yet.

I'm def looking forward to the first batches to go through that machine.

This beer is called Stacks on Stacks, not Make it Rain, and can be had already at a few places draft only. Will be part of the next can release. And yes, Barrier makes some damn good beer, and have heard the collab is phenomenal!

Secondly, anyone know if there's any 2nd Anny and Oat Overdose left at the brewery? Going this weekend and it will be great to go on a non release day and avoid the crowds. I know they posted 5 days ago there was a limited amount left. Also what are people's thoughts on Diamond Mausoleum? Thanks in advance and cheers!

Don't know about what is left at the brewery but I will say I loved Diamond Mausoleum. I didn't know what I would think about it and was surprised by how much I liked it.

Fairly confident that Stacks on Stacks is a separate beer from the Barrier collab that was brewed at OH, which is indeed going to be called Make it Rain.

I'm pretty sure 2nd Anniversary is done and was replaced by AGE per comments I saw on here. Not sure about Oat Overdose. Diamond Mausoleum is solid for a black IPA - can't say I'm a huge fan of the style though.

Ok - I stand corrected. Thought there were rumors going around that original name of the collab was going to be called Make it Rain, but then they chose Stacks on Stacks, which referenced Barrier's Money. Thanks for the clarification.

For what it's worth, Stacks on Stacks is really solid and would be really happy if they canned this as well at some point.

Yea I was confused about it too until I saw an event that listed both beers on tap.

This would be amazing - Stacks on Stacks tasted kind of like a slightly toned-down 2nd Anniversary to me. Would love it if this made it into the regular canning rotation.

Make it Rain is releasing this week for the NYC Beer week, and a lot of places have confirmed it and its called make it rain 1000%.
