That's crazy...Andersons in Toledo apparently received some today (aka 1 case) and were limiting it to 1 bottle @$4.99/person. For as much as I enjoy this beer (amongst others), I'm done playing the chase game.

First off, they changed packaging awhile back. Obviously they messed up on the UPC codes and those got copied onto the Juju packages. They came up with a pretty quick solution for it. Don't ya think? To berate them by calling them names and insulting those that work there is quite petty. Right? So yes, chill out. And no, this is not me fan boying over Fat Heads. This is me using common sense and not getting all pissy about something so trivial.

As far as SMS, it arrives tomorrow.

@Sabtos, my internet arguing days are over, but unless you have the palate of a super human, Hop Juju will taste the exact same in a week(and more) as it does now.

To be honest, I don't think my comments about them would be considered insults by them personally. Maybe so, but, I highly doubt it. But I apologize if any feelings were hurt in this minor production.

Well, I mean, to make a contrary statement to what I said is arguing, so...I mean, I wouldn't deny it myself if I told you that you were wrong, so why bother?

It will taste drastically different to me. I am highly sensitive to overly bitter beers. The longer it sits=the more bitter it gets=the less I like it.

    Subjective.
I think I covered that already.

Good to know about SMS, thanks. I'd say cheers, but I'm pretty well bloated for the night.

They should probably dump the kegs they have sitting in the cooler then, lest the super humans pack the pub one night!!

By arguing I meant going back and forth, which I'm in danger of doing now.

Thank fuck I'm not drinking tonight!!

The ignore option makes this forum much more palatable.

Some great beers coming out. Thanks for the info guys.

JuJu wins gold at GABF where beers are submitted 4+ weeks before judging. So obviously the beer holds up and is world class several weeks later.

And most Brewers will tell you these types of IPAs get less green and MORE nuanced (and better according to their palates) after a few (2-3) weeks. I've personally heard this from Mitch at Stone, Jeff Bagby, Silva and yes, even Matt Cole.

It's 100% about packaging and storage. Properly packaged hoppy beer that is stored correctly won't degrade overnight. JuJu won't be a bitter bomb because it gets to shelves a week later than planned. But, again, you had every chance to get a day old case at Fat Heads and throw in in your fridge if your freaky superhuman palate is so sensitive to ILD (Imaginary Lupulin Degradation).

So, yes, you can have your opinion but I'll go with acclaimed judges at the country's most renowned competition and award winning Brewers over yours. Nothing personal.

Well you may trust someone else's over-privileged palate over your own--(there have been numerous hilarious and damaging studies about the aspects of this type of judging)--but I trust my palate first and foremost to tell me what I actually like. I'm glad to know according to multiple reputable BA sources here in this thread that Juju will taste exactly the same in April as it did last week. Thanks too for the undeserved superhuman credit. I'm beginning to understand that having anything other than a glowingly positive, one sentence comment here is unwelcome and hurtful to others, so I'll refrain from being honest going forward.

Again, in a desperate attempt to get back on topic, is SMS actually hitting South of Cleveland, North of Columbus?

Except you're not getting it in April. You're literally getting it this week due to an amazingly fast turn around on a simple mistake made by Fat Head's. I can assure you, from having my own last night that was from the same bottling date that you'll be receiving, it's fantastic. You have to see the ridiculousness of the claims you're making about the delay regarding this beer. This board is usually pretty laid back about this sort of thing. I'm beginning to wonder if you do suffer from this ILD that @jampics2 mentioned and that so many others seem to be afflicted with every day. We need to start a commercial to sponsor sufferers of this disease so that this can never happen to anyone in the beer community again.

Wow, how snobby can we get guys? Get pissy because JuJu will spend one additional week in the bottle? C'mon now. We are fortunate to get it so quickly out of those bright tanks.

Anyway... Last year I was still drinking JuJu 3 months or so after release and it still was drinking really nice... Far better than most. It holds up very well. One bottle I saved for about 4/5 months and it still was damn good.

@Sabtos , that comment you made a while back about people not really vibing with your personality in real life -- I'm starting to get it.

I said it was better last year because I might have felt it was the sexy thing to say. I like it...a lot. But I'm not ready crown it over KBS. That said, for price and availability, I think we have a winner. Absolutely fantastic beer. Hope you all got a fair amount this week!

I've done SMS vs. KBS side-by-side twice now and I can still barely tell them apart. Forced to choose, I would take KBS by a hair. That said, KBS is a much more annoying release so put me on team SMS.

This is nonsense. They have not even finished bottling the beer yet and they should eat the cost?!?

And the perception about their business? Why even write that? They are obviously doing something right, the brew pub is always packed, brewery can't keep up, and who can even carry all those medals! Have you been to either location, I always get great service.

It's really entertaining only reading the side of the people with common sense and not new money entitlement have ignored/blocked them all. Finally able to read this thread without becoming furious at the internet tough guy.

Good luck on the SMS search fellas. Fantastic coffee forward beer for sure and fun to compare side by side with a KBS which we will all have the opportunity it to do if we are lucky enough.
