I've always felt like I had problems brewing Belgian dubbels but this one brought home a blue ribbon in the Belgian Strong Category at the Minnesota Renaissance Fest (where it competed with only 16 others in the category). http://beeradvocate.com/community/t...eekend-june-22-24-ed.25087/page-2#post-318738 Also was voted the best new beer name in 2012 (scroll down from link). The saison did not place, although I prefer it to the dubbel. No comments or scores yet.
I didn't go. I dropped off my entries in advance of the start of the festival. I haven't been to the Renn Fest for several years, but it always was a good time.
