It's a new series of single hop session IPAs. Same base grain bill every time, and each "Rev" will be a different hop variety. I had a sample can from a test batch a couple months ago, and it was delicious. Super light bodied without coming across as "hop water" like some session IPAs.

"hop water" is a perfect description for these types of beers... I still dont' get the craze over these simple hop bombs.

That being said I have confidence that Firestone can pull of these single hop beers.

I don't see anywhere on the website that it's a single hop series. I think they're going to experiment with different hop combinations. At least I hope they are. I can't handle another "citra" or "mosaic". Time to explore

Yeah It looks like you're right, they're focusing on one main hop only for the dry-hopping, but each base recipe will have multiple hop varieties:

    Riding the Wave

Luponic Distortion is an intentional departure from the heavier style of many IPAs. Instead, it aims for a razor-like brightness, providing a clean platform for the hop aromas to pop as vividly as possible.
As many as nine different hops will be included in each release, with up to six used in the dry hopping alone. However, with each release, the brewing team is going to turn up the volume a different featured experimental hop, which will be dry hopped in greater quantity than the others.
“We can completely evolve, change and redirect this thing as new hops come to us and as we get to know the hops better,” says Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “Luponic is this beer that can keep morphing and stay interesting and remain out in front of this crazy hop wave.”

Had a taster of this at the XIX release party and it was great. Happy to see they are canning it!

To be fair, I can't think of many, if any, session IPAs that are 5.9% ABV. Even if it's light bodied, there has to be more malt in there at 5.9% ABV than a similar IPA at 4.5% or lower.

I would like to get in on this and try the different variations. What a cool concept. If other IPA centric Brewers did this I may go broke. I try way too many Green Flash IPAs and variations of Crooked Stave Sours (St. Bretta, Hop Savant). It's fun to compare.

It would be great if they can get this to shelves in less than four weeks.

I love FW but they can't get fresh hoppy beers to my market, not sure if that's on them or the distributor or both. I imagine as they release the new variation of this beer, we will be getting the previous one.
