This whole, "there are 612,000 IIIpa's better than PtY" is probably the biggest exaggeration ever posted on this board. Maybe Notorious can hang (never have had a chance to line them up against each other), but I'm not buying the argument for anything else. Certainly not any of these hopmob beers.

It's fine and cool to say it's not worth whale hunting for, which I would certainly agree with, but the reason is not because it is inferior to what is easier to obtain.

It's worth noting that several of the Portland places that had kegs last year aren't included on that list.

Yeah. Honestly it wasnt very hard to find last year and most places had either a very short line or no line at all.

Yes, I noticed it's not a comprehensive list. There are a number of places in N. Cal that got kegs last year that aren't on the list either. Still, it seemed like a good starting point for PNW_Walez.

I assume if Chris says places are missing... They're missing. unless I misinterpret... Places actually didn't get it?

The year before last, Bier Stein had Elder, Notorious and Younger on at the same time. It was pretty interesting tasting the beers side by side with one another. I actually thought elder held it's own fairly well against the big boys, which surprised me. In any event, as you surmised, notorious and PtY were actually fairly similar, though you could tell them apart easily enough. If I tried them blind, I'm pretty sure I would have a very difficult time picking one beer over the other. Both were outstanding, and it just confirmed what I've assumed all along. Notorious is clearly in the same class as younger (IMHO).

Any kegs happen to make their way into Bend? I would love to try Younger.

I believe 2012 is the last time Younger showed up in Central Oregon.

Yep. I did an Untappd nearby search and saw it pop up.

Back home in Seattle now. I picked up a Power Plant TIPA at El Segundo before heading to LAX.

When somebody hears something about PtY in Portland, please post here or send me a message.

Yeah, I'm sure it's overrated and times have changed and a million other NW brewers make a beer just as good, but I've never had this one, I'm moving away soon, and I'd like to make the trek down from Seattle for a taste this year.

So I'm guessing that means they aren't doing a ticketed event this year? Oh well.

I'm sure it's very nice there. I drove through once, didn't have a chance to stop. Work related?
