That's not a bad price at all. I feel like that would sell out in minutes.

It does.. usually to just one or two people.. two years ago somebody bought both their cases.. not really fair but the owner says he'll never change or allow limits

Agreed with the recent sentiment in the thread. People don't always understand the beer-scene outside of their geographic area. Most places in the State will have smaller allocations limit you to one or two bottles (heard this even with Hopslam ). And with a larger population, small supply + high demand = higher prices. If you want to get 12 bottles...good luck. You'd have to do a lot of footwork.

While KBS tickets may not be a necessity for some, it is for others. Or at least a tremendous convenience.

Now this compared to Grand Rapids during 2015 KBS week, where we walked into a bar and had pour after pour of CBS (from what I could tell the only people in the half-empty place even drinking beer), picked up our KBS bottles at the release, and then had a few more pours of CBS at Founders for good measure. No lines ever. We honestly couldn't believe it (still can't).

For me it's just an excuse to go up to Grand Rapids and hit a KBS tapping plus a few other awesome spots. Then have lunch at Founders the next day. I've made the trip when I have a KBS ticket and have also made the trip when I didn't have a ticket and a buddy did. I don't need to have the bottles, but it's nice to have access to bottles and not have to worry about getting them elsewhere.

It's a fun long weekend, lots of bars around there have tappings of KBS and of course usually CBS pops up at some point.

Going for the first time. Any recommendations on other places to check out, especially from Ann Arbor over on 94/96?

Horrocks in Lansing is a good stoop too and right off of the highway en route to GR. They don't keep a beer list on their website but Untappd is pretty good place to check

    Alight, dumb question here...

Just looking at KBS on the Founders site and ABV is listed this year as 12.4%. Are us Ohioans gonna get screwed this year?!?

Good thing we've got a 200 mile head start on you guys!
All seriousness tho, your archaic abv laws need to be changed. It's friggen 2016, a LOT of beers are over 12% these days.

And I hear the Brethren put on a world-class bottle share at Spring Hill Suites the night before the Founders KBS release party, where locals are welcomed warmly, even those sporting Red Wings regalia.

Looks like the KBS will be getting an abv increase this year, just like the Backwoods Bastard did. 12.4%... Can't wait!
