Too bad about that limited distribution

Only Czechvar, Jever and Pilsner Urquell. The rest are available across the border in Buffalo.

I voted other. My favorite easy to find cheap pils is bittburger. Regionally I have many choices and some good ones from PA too but saranac makes a nice seasonal pilsner . Victory's prima is year round I think and so is sly fox.

Of those I've had it's Tipo Pils. Would be interesting to try that, Pivo Pils and Jever side by side as Pivo was inspired by Tipo which I think was inspired by Jever but with a dry hop

How much does freshness matter with Bitburger for you? I'm curious because I always love it but find it sometimes seems to really pop (easily as good as my favorite Konig) and other times it doesn't have that same pop.

I'm glad it's easy to get. At some point I need to get one of those sweet-looking Bitburger glasses I see on BA from time to time.

It matters. I am drinking 9/27 /16 for a while now and last week I picked up three lagers none of them my pils. But I need some and I'll get more until it fades too much. It's approaching 6 months old right if they date a year out. Sp in April-June I don't want 9.27.

edit - and the reason I am not buying any 12 pack of urquell is because the date is june 2016.

Since PU is mentioned there: Do svetly lezaks or in general pale czech lagers count? As I always preach, they are for me in a different category....
    czech"pale lager":Koutský 12°
german Pilsner: Gampertbräu Försterpils or St. Georgenbräu Buttenheim PIlsner, can't really decide.

My favorite pilsner is Firestone Walker Pivo for its explosive fruitiness, plus its obvious dry, clean character. Closely followed by Sixpoint The Crisp, Sierra Nevada Nooner, and Oskar Blue's Mamma's Little Yella Pils.

German Pils are great no question but I choose Full Sail Pilsner as a go to when i can find it. 2nd place is the Crisp also hard to find for me. Easy to find great Pils is Lagunitas around here.

Weihenstephaner! Probably Prima for domestics, and Schell's and Fair State's for locals.

Their Braumeister Pils on draft at the pub might be the best pils I've ever had

I went with Victory's Prima, but Left Hand and Troegs are seriously close behind. I haven't had Firestone's Pivo...yet:slight_frown:

Gun to head I'll take Summerfest. Ever beer on that list is excellent, and their are at least 4 or 5 "others" that could have been on it.
