Just curious if anyone has any idea if Founders CBS will be available during the week. I am headed up on Saturday and that is my white whale. I hope to try it!

 

CBS has been available during Grand Rapids beer week recently but not sure if I've seen any CBS slated for KBS week....and doubt that CBS lasts that long.

That being said, CBS has been around in previous years during KBS week.

So what I'm saying is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Honestly, I feel like CBS availability may be the deciding factor between a same-day KBS pickup and an overnighter in GR.

 

I'm already staying overnight but that would make my weekend if its on tap

 

Okay.....so Im heading out to Founders tomorrow for KBS Week. What are the odds Founders has CBS on tap? This white whale has escaped me so far in my young beer drinking career. I heard it was flowing all week last year but it was gone quickly at this years Cellar Raid which I missed by about 20 minutes.

For those going up early this week, please report back what your thoughts are on this year's KBS! Always interested to hear how it is fresh - both on tap and in the bottle, and won't be able to make it up until Saturday.

 

When does Founders sell the left over 2016 KBS at the general store?

 

I'm gonna say very very low odds. My guess is that IF they have it all, it will be on saturday at the official KBS release. I know they had it on last week for the entire week, which was awesome, but they had also recently sent a bunch of kegs out for distribution in December 2014 so it was definitely more plentiful then. And it was not on tap at all the previous two years for KBS week. But I'm wrong a lot and in this case, for you and me, I hope I'm wrong. I'll be there tomorrow as well.

 

Randomly put it in the coolers through out the year unannounced.

 

I'm guessing zero chance. There was a lot of buzz last year about it being made and hopefully available during KBS week (and it was). I haven't heard anything about it being made this year. I'll be happy if Backwoods Bastard is still on. Hopefully tomorrow's taplist will indicate what will be on the rest of the week.

 

yeah, i tend to agree. And IF it were on, I'm 100% sure it would be the 2014 version and not anything new. I was trying to be gentle about crushing that dudes dreams though.....

 

Well I am going up for KBS, but my dreams of having CBS are still alive. Hopefully they will have a couple other special brews on tap on Saturday. Excited to go!

Somebody tweeted at Founders asking if CBS was going to "pop up" tomorrow and they replied "maybe". Makes me think it will be on at some point tomorrow.
