I was wondering what are some of the more polarizing beers (either people REALLY like them while others hate them) and why?

The one that most comes to mind for me is Deviant Dale's. I love the stuff and my girlfriend hates it due to the strong onion flavor. While I've never had it I assume the most common answer will be Dark Lord because it's too sweet.

Anyone else bored at work?? 5pm can't get here quick enough

From what I see here and the online ratings, apparently Stone Arrogant Bastard.

Oh noes, a beer with flavor! Puke it up and wash it down with some Bud!

A few of my friends hate Rasputin, most of the craft beer community loves it from what I understand.

DFH 120 Minute!!!!! Either you love it or hate it. Never hear anyone say it was "just ok".

Hmm, a rather different thread topic. Nice to see a change of pace from the top 5 or one for the rest of your life crap.

I'll throw Brooklyn Black Ops out there. While I don't like the price tag, I do enjoy it quite a bit. However, every time it comes out I see quite a lot of dislike for it on the forums.

Im surprised nobody has mentioned Dark Lord yet.

There are equal amounts of love and hate for this beer and people on both sides who vehemently defend their position.

Agreed. The whole blackwater series (Creme Brulee, Choklat, Javah, Mokah, Oat) and Pumking seem to separate drinkers into two very distinct camps: those who love the delicious beer, and those who get angry and sputter "diabeeetes!" over and over like it means anything.

What? Of course I'm not biased, why would you say that?

The Gubna is probably even more polarizing that Deviant Dales. You either taste the onions or you don't.

Anything over 14-15% ABV. Some people will say the beer is smooth and complex, others will say it's "too boozy".

I guess the OP meant the most polarizing beer within the craft beer segment. If it isn't what he meant, then anything macro is the most polarizing beer.

According to the reviews Sam Adams Triple Bock clocks in with an astounding pDev of 38.49%. There's not a lot of middle ground with that one.

ETA: Budweiser Chelada leaves that one in the dust- 53.3%
