Val Dieu Tripel.

At first taste this was very sweet. Amost like pear juice. Boy did it open up. Wonderfully delicate spice from the yeast and a floral, hoppy bite mingling with the alcoholic finish really balance things out. For me, if it had a bit more carbonation it would be perfect.
A long, flared cork makes beers from this brewery a tough open. I felt like I really deserved this beer! Left to right:
Val Dieu, St. Bernardus, Cuvee Van Der Keizer.

Happy 'Made-it-through' Monday everyone. Sipping this dark beauty right now. For being a year old it's not nearly as smooth as I would have hoped. Still pretty solid, no complaints.

Foggy day up here in the high county. Trying to detox all of those light beers I had all weekend with reallly heavy dark beers (this is healthy). Seeing this beer thin out on the shelves frightens me

Bell's limited/temporary shipment in Oregon, and finally got to score some Hopslam and Expedition Stout. Glad to report that this is great; lots of sweetness from the honey, nice malt and super smooth, almost creamy, body. Cheers!

Not what I was expecting. Also noticed that their name is in a shape close enough to a guitar pick to make the musical association.

 

More hoppiness from today. By the way, did I mention, today is my Saturday after 11 days at work in the shitty swamps of Louisiana.
