What beer are you drinking now? #1220

#2, I've really taken to following a hop bomb with a rich, roasty stout. This fits the bill perfectly - plus the bottle is really cool (reminds me of loving to read cereal boxes when I was a kid - otherwise known as "the old days"). Have a magical Monday, BA's.

1/2 way through a fresh growler poured yesterday of Pliny the Elder at the source. Damn! Bottles just don't do this beer justice...

 

Got a 32oz fill of SingleCut KT-66 IPL and this is delightful. Great golden color for a lager and a very fluffy feel, hops are definitely there and then a nice, crisp lager finish. Really well done.

 

Thanks to @sembo for this one! First time having this one: great beer! Pleasant grapefruit peel bitterness backed up by slight honey sweetness.

 

Wife is at a work function until 9 or so.
Came home, got in a nice work out aided by some good gangster rap. I usually work out sans music because she's home and I don't go to a gym, so I forgot how working out to a good baseline or tempo makes a big difference.

Visiting family for a day or two, and turns out my sister has a Blue Moon variety pack in the fridge. Earlier on I had a bottle of the new Vanilla Wheat (which was actually really nice -- flavor started out wheaty, then a good bit of vanilla popped in, and then it shifts back toward wheaty again), and right now I'm having a bottle of the First Peach Ale.

Smelled and tasted really nice and peachy right away, but after maybe a third or so of the glass the peach has all but vanished from the smell (replaced with a sort of dusty wheat malt thing.) Maybe still vaguely peachy in the background, but smell-wise at least it's almost faded away. Taste still definitely has the peaches in it though, actually reminding me a bit of the bitterish bits near the pit rather than just the sweeter outer parts of the fruit, though of course that's still present too. Overall, like the Vanilla Wheat, this is actually pretty good -- finding it pretty interesting how the malty flavors and peach blend together, and it doesn't come across as artificial peach flavoring to me (or at the very least, not anything close to the really bad artificial peach flavoring that I've had before in powdered-drink-mix form!)
