Always a great beer to end the night.

 

My first time having a Duet and it's fantastic!

 

Octoberfest good. I actually like the original. Drank a ton on a Lakefront Wisconsin cabin visit that brings back great memories.

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good day. Looks like a normal crowd for a Monday as usual. Reviews:

This is a good Czech pilsner. Nice head retention and lacing down the glass. Aromas and flavors of cracker, bread, and light honey/biscuity malt; with herbal/grass/light peppery hop and a bit of yeasty earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness; smooth and crisp finish; touch of grainy malt creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Light-medium dry finish; clean lager flavors with zero off flavors or yeast esters. Really enjoyable and easy drinking, with good amounts of flavor for 5.2%. This matches the style characteristics very well, balanced malt and noble hop flavors. 3.68


Outstanding English/Belgian Porter! Aromas and flavors of big chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, caramel, toffee, and light nutty/smokey malts; with some light-moderate raisin, plum, cherry, fig fruits with some yeast earthiness. Light-moderate roasted bitterness with a slight touch of yeast tartness; great bittersweet balanced finish; moderately creamy and balanced chalky roast character in the mouthfeel. Light-medium roasted dryness. This was so damn awesome. It is an English Porter brewed with Lambic yeast. This bottle was still really fresh(9/16/2015 on cap). Not much in the way of funk or Lambic character; but has a really nice complex dark fruit background note; with the big roasty/bready English Porter flavors being the main showcase in the overall profile. Extremely delicious. 4.2


Excellent weizenbock. Aromas and flavors of big banana, raisin, fig, cherry, clove, gingerbread, toasted biscuit, caramel, brown sugar, nuttiness; with some light chocolate malt, vanilla, and spiced rum/oak character in the finish. Moderate yeast, ginger, and oak spice on the finish; medium bodied with nice bready wheat creaminess, and light ginger spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly warming finish. Was hoping for a bit more rum barrel in there, but there is a noticeable enough presence. There was just a really all around well rounded, complex, and robust malt profile going on; with nice weizen yeast ester balance; ginger fit seamlessly under that too. Delicious! 4.1

Was a pretty good monday at work so continuing the good vibes with a big beer! Still not sure if these are the 2015s or 2014s . BA Narwhal went off the shelves for a good few months and then recently reappeared but from what I've seen none of them have the 2015 date on them. Can't really complain but I'd still like to try a 2015 to taste the difference!

 

Watched the X-Files finale, and closing out with some FIS... Ok Fox, when is the next season?

 

I like freaks, cake, old bruin's and BA beers, so what's not to like?!

@richj1970 I couldn't get into this season of X-Files, I was psyched for it but that nfc/afc game that was before the first episode it had the post game coverage run overtime for some bullshit and it ruined my whole season.
