Yeah, it's still a bit early-ish to start this but figured someone should get the ball rolling. The program will likely will roll out in a couple more weeks and there's still tickets available for both nights.

I also just put two and two together today, the Red Bull Crashed Ice event is going on the same nights as Winterfest this year. Those of you going may want to plan your rides accordingly as traffic should be interesting and I'm guessing the light rail and buses may be a bit more crowded this year. After all, Crashed Ice tends to add only about 100,000+ people into the west side of the downtown St. Paul area.

Also a BLM protest at Crashed Ice is being planned

While annoying, can't imagine they'll get much done with 140,000 spectators.

They will get press and that is all they care about with these types of protests, any press draws attention to their cause. I just wish they would stop going over the top to disrupt events or stop blocking freeway traffic.

Does Winterfest or Crashed Ice produce any good tap take overs in the area?

Why won't they post a tap list already! Come on breweries!

The program usually isn't released until about Wednesday afternoon if I remember correctly as many of the breweries are still deciding what they are going to serve. I'm willing to bet that Hammerheart Brewing will still have a blank page.

    All breweries were required to submit beer lists over a month ago... Not our fault they haven't released the info yet, but I can tell you what Bent paddle will be pouring;
    Venture pils
    Hop forest DIPA
Barrel aged double shot double black
    Badsdb w/ cherries and vanilla
And sparkling water from the big lake.

St. Paul’s Winterfest: 5 beers to get excited about

The list highlighted in this article are:
    • Kirby Pucker No. 5 from Eastlake Craft Brewery
    • Master Bee Dopplebock from Great Waters Brewing
    • Cranberry Shandy from Burning Brothers
    • Red Desert IPA from Wabasha Brewing Company
    • Tea-infused Honey Wheat from The Freehouse
Written by Pioneer Press foodie / journalist Jess Fleming. I don't know much about her writing, but in this article she does call a 5.2% ABV beer "boozy"... (although in fairness, the comparison was to cream soda...)

The writer also said that "big, barrel-aged beers that tend to dominate the fest." I will drink several BA beers but I'd hardly say that Winterfest is dominated by BA beers.

Those are 5 beers I don't have much desire to drink.

Interesting to see that Town Hall has Czar Jack for Winterfest, but didn't for their Barrel Age Week?

From what I heard and was posted on here, they had to dump it this year. So either this is last year's or they didn't have to dump it all, but didn't have enough for barrel aged week.

You can get more mileage out of 2 oz pours for a 6 hour total window rather than 10 oz pours for a week.
