Your Summer vacation beer plans?

I hate to burst your bubble but unless you are going around an event the odds of finding Bourbon County during the summer is slim to none

 

My summer always has a lot of beer events in it. and a trip to San Diego to visit buddies and hit the breweries down there. Cheers and enjoy Vegas.

 

i have a friend who lives in Mystic, CT and we both enjoy beer. i'm gonna try to swing a MA/VT/NH trip with him. drive there, stay the night and then hit some of the big boys in New England. Trillium, Tree House, Alchemist, etc.

i also am gonna visit some friends from school. still have plenty of friends in Columbus and Cleveland, OH. go back and see an OSU game then hit some breweries.

so many breweries, so little time.

 

I'm going to stealthily find out where my local Sierra Nevada distributor lives and clean fresh cooked crab next door and leave the guts in the backyard in a tree.

 

Probably going to head up to my parents place outside of Bend and gorge myself on Boneyard brews. Maybe I'll convince the folks to take the short four and half hour drive to Tillamook and hit up de Garde. I think they will buy it if I spin it as an opportunity to check out beautiful Oregon coast...

 

I plan on drinking a bit more during the summer as beer tastes better in the summer. I'll drink a lot more if I can work in a vacation and then continue this beer drinking till the end of summer. After summer I'll switch to fall drinking

 

Go to Khoury's, great bottle shop with taps.

 

Head back to my hometown in CT and hit OEC, Kent Falls, Beer'd.

 

The exact same summer beer plan as every other craft fan in New England (and elsewhere, for that matter):
-Hit up Hill Farmstead once, while simultaneously grabbing some delicious VT brews other places in the state
-Wait in line at Treehouse once or twice
-drink awesome beer at the dozens of other breweries making awesome beer within three hours of my house many, many times.

 

I will be in Charleston, SC in March and Sarasota (Lido Key) in June so definitely looking forward to picking up beers to drink at condo or by the pool I can't get in Chicago. I know both have some great options. Also will plan on visiting atleast cigar City brewery in FL during that trip.

Going to Vegas in June as well but not sure what the casinos will have for variety that isn't national distribution beers. Not really expecting that to be an enjoy new beers trip.

Going to Aruba in July but once again not really a trip I expect a lot of new beer at unless they have some decent islands beers.

Will also make at least one or two weekend trips to Indiana to visit family and will make a few Three Floyds trips.

Should be a fun summer.

 

Soon I'll start planning a pub crawl for my wife and myself from Michigan to Oregon for a few days via I-90/94, then down to Santa Rosa and the Bay Area for another few days, then head home, probably thru Denver and St. Louis. I'm guessing that we can do this in 3 weeks if we push hard.

 

We are going to Tawas Michigan to visit our youngest and going to Wiltse Brew Pub , then zip across the state to New Holland Brewery, for my favorite brew, Dragons Milk. We will also be going to Buffalo NY to visit our middle son and hit Pearl Street Grill & Brewery and Big Ditch Brewing Company. We are also planning to visit Devils Backbone and Blue Mountain Brewery in our home state of Virginia. We may even visit a few other micro breweries this summer.

 

Summer plans? Probably gonna drink a few beers. That's it.

 

I'll add the obligatory trip to the soon to be opened (July-ish) new Alchemist location in Stowe, which takes me about 50 minutes.

 

Driving up to my buddy's wedding in NJ, gonna hit up Carton. After the wedding heading up to a seminar at Yale which happens to be only about an hour from Tree House. Then on the drive back to FL a pitstop in Asheville for some Wicked Weed.

 

Going to Yellowstone and will be trying some of the local brews from Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota.

 

Not a summer vacation but I am moving across the country to San Jose, CA next month. My wife and kids are flying and I will be driving solo. I have bottle shops and breweries planned along the way.

 

Leaving Socal to hit Texas with the boys then coming back for some beer...
