BA Abraxas 2016

This stuff really turns me off from events and it's becoming somewhat of a norm. Like the Dead scene from the 90s.

 

Dunno about that -- I see a lot of kids running over their parents at the supermarket throwing tantrums because they can't have a candy bar. I imagine this is what those kids grow up to be.

 

Was anything about the Public Sale announced?

 

Also probably the same people at our local pre-release bottle shares that leave their empties and shit everywhere. I can only assume they were babied growing up and never taught to put their toys away after play time. Pretty sad really

 

I would actually imagine that the kids that are getting the candy bar at the first sign of throwing a tantrum are the ones that end up like this, not the ones that are actually told they can't have something.

 

This stinks. I have been wanting to head down for a Perennial/Side Project release because I was told exactly this type of stuff doesn't happen. Are these people not called out?

 

Exactly, this is where the sense of entitlement comes from.

 

Oh releases are fine becuase you (at least I always do) keep control of your bottles. At the party it was a free for all where everyone just threw them in buckets of ice which was fine too. Just sad to see how some people act.

Their releases are the best ive ever been too.

 

Does anyone actually talk to these people or do they just bitch on the internet about it the next day? A little confrontation is needed sometimes.

 

Not sure what everyone expects to happen when, with no announcement, a small number of bottles show up on the table and there is a hundred people wanting some. Its unrealistic to have everyone to form an ordered line and measure out 1oz each.

It was the first time for the event, it will hopefully be more streamlined next year with member comments to the organizers.

 

Drops at 4pm

 

I was at the first session, went outside to go put my coat in the car, had my bottle of Vigneronne sitting on table in front of my wife unopened. Some dipshit who brought in a shelf turd walks by and grabbed it and pops the top and tries to take a pour. Only to realize there is still a cork inside. Wife goes into bitch mode and sets the dipshit straight, gets my bottle back and made god damn sure that D-bag doesn't get a pour when i get back from the car with a cork screw.

Unfortunately events like this are turning into shit shows filled with people like above, we need to do our part and call them out and and stop this kind of behavior.

On the flip side, I drank BA Abraxas and a whole bunch of other great shit that some really great folks brought from all around the country. Cheers to the guys that drove straight from Fonta Flora and were generous enough to share their Carolina goodies.
